My Mom has been in generally good health for a spy 95 year old... Last weekend that suddenly changed when she had a mini- stroke... Now she's somewhere between very silly and down-right loopy... She'll be yakking away (to herself that is) then out of the blue... Break out into totally uncontrollable belly laugher... Sad as it is... You can't help but find yourself laughing along with her... I say... "At least she's landed in a happy place" My aunts are totally freaked and say "you simply can never leave Granny unattended"... Mom's appartment is a wing off our house... The monitor comes with an A-V connector where you can see & hear it over your TV (very cool)... This way... My wife and I can have our Martini watching Granny on TV and if all is well we take the handheld with us to bed and hope for the best... Without this technology we would be forced to stay with Granny or pay someone to stay with her... This product allows us a little time of "our own" in that "happy place" !!! Suggest the TARGET Marketing folks look beyond parents of newborns" for this cool product... Howbout a stealth camera version to keep an eye on my Ahhhhh... TEENAGER... ;D HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!!

After my son had a gan mal seizure i looked into getting a monitor to keep an eye on him....this is one of the best investments i have ever made....I now know that my sons has seizures in the middle of the night as well....<good to know>

I researched before i went out and bought a product and everyone seemed happy with this brand....I have 6 wireless laptops, 2 different sets of cordless phones, ps3, and other items i cant think of right now... and I have NO problem with this monitor....

While there is low static (at my house, if I don't hear the static, I may not hear the baby, either), I love this monitor. We have a 2 story w/a laundry in the basement. I can tell exactly what's going on if he makes noise without having to go all the way upstairs to see what's up like I would without the video. I can also hear if he's making the "I need to burp" gulp, or if he's smacking his lips like he's hungry. This has helped me not only to stay in bed more without getting up to check on him, but has allowed him to learn to be in his own room without thinking I am going to come in for every little peep- and keeps him from waking up or getting that second wind he gets when I go in to check on him. I find this works well alongside the movement/sound monitor so that I know nothing major is going wrong & I get MUCH better sleep. The color shows up well on some days, but not all the time, which is no big deal.

I struggled finding a monitor that would work in our home since our bedroom is downstairs and our daughter's is up and on the opposite end of the house. This monitor is perfect for just such a scenario. The picture is clear (although rarely shows up in anything but black and white) and saves me from running upstairs every time she makes a peep. It even works when we are out on a our back patio. Two thumbs WAY UP!

I loved this monitor when we lived in FL, it does work great!!!! We have two, one for each childs room, but when we moved to NJ we have not had the best luck. Our neighbors have them too, so when we turn ours on, we can hear and see someone elses crib, bed ect....you can also hear everything that goes on in that house too. Yours will override theirs...This is how we meet our neighbors..... I do love it do not get me wrong, but the security thing scares me.......

Overall, this is a good monitor. The superimposed image online is just that. I see nightvision with mine, not color. It isn't a big deal, though. I'm just not a fan of false advertising. I seem to get quite a bit static. We haven't used it while we were sleeping yet, but that might be a problem. I really like being able to see my baby. It saves many trips up and down stairs. We get so many "Wow's!" from friends and family. It is definitely worth my money.

As a new parent this has been one of the best things we could have bought. A little pricey but definately worth it. We have had no problems with static and have used it in a 2 story house and outside of the house with no problems with reception from camera to monitor. I can check on my son without having to get up and see what every little sound is. It is such peace of mind to be able to look in on hhim without disturbing him. It has contributed to better nights of sleep and better nap times. I would put this on my list of top 10 baby items every new parent should get

The first time I purchased this monitor, I got a defective one. The sound was working (with a lot of static) but the monitor was not. I exchanged it for the same model. Well that one had a lot of loud static too, every 20 seconds or so. I had a Sony sound-only monitor, so I used that one for sound and this video monitor for picture. Not very convenient, but the picture quality was excellent. Well, that was until screen went out a few months later!!!
So in a nutshell:
- 1st monitor: defective screen, no picture, just a black screen, loud static
- 2nd monitor: screen went out after a few months, loud static.
I cannot recommend this video monitor. If you DO choose to buy it, make sure you keep your receipt.
