While indeed the weight of this liner is one of the heaviest I have found, it has an AWFUL Odor. Not the typical, gone in an hour "vinyl" shower curtain liner most of us have experienced type odor, but a very strong, petroleum/diesel fuel odor. It gave me a horrible headache, and is so bad that I had to close the door to my bathroom and run the exhaust fan and an air purifier. I even tried washing the liner in the washing machine with a little white vinegar. All that did was instantly rust the "rust proof" grommets, and the smell is only slightly less three days later. It is still all I can smell when in the shower. It really makes the product unusable.

I love the fact that this curtain is thick vinyl and I also like the grommets on this one. You can definitley smell the vinyl of this curtain when first opening but I didn't think it was anything beyond what one would expect from this material. The smell goes away after a while. The curtain is indeed mildew proof but it invites soap scum like crazy. It would require regular maintenence to keep it clean and putting it in the wash will rust the grommets. It's not the miracle solution I was looking for but I still prefer it over the regular curtains.

This curtain is VERY heavy and that's why I love it. It doesn't fold up, like many other shower liners; instead, the weight of the curtain makes it drop down perfectly. I didn't notice any strange smell, but it does stick out a wee bit behind our Spanish Vocabulary curtain. Either way, I'd def recommend it!!

This truly is a heavyweight liner. I really like it. The only problem I have is that it is about an inch wider than the curtain I purchased from Target. The measurements say it should be an inch smaller. I'll live. I don't have a problem with the smell, either- it's just a new curtain smell that goes away after a couple of showers.

Very Heavy and really is mildew free! I havent had any problems with soap build up. The smell isnt the greatest but went away after airing out for a little. Love this product!

I've been using a solid white liner for years, and I decided it was time for a change. This liner is great! It fits my shower/tub just so, and I have no complaints about length or width (if you are picky about length/width, measure your tub/shower before you buy, but I don't think this takes away from this liner's appeal).

There is something so satisfying about having a new shower curtain liner... Yes it does smell like vinyl but what do you expect with a new item? It will go away. It is about 3/4" longer on both sides than my outer decorative shower curtain. If I have it closed all the way to the walls you can't really tell but I am VERY particular and it kind of drives me nuts. There are no magnets at the bottom but the liner is so heavy they are not needed.
