The poor design of the toothbrush holder does not allow for cleaning. There is no way to open the bottom, so water collects inside. Ours had mold growing after only 2 weeks of use. I returned it.

i don't think the dishwasher would clean this, but it does get dirty and it fits only really small tooth brushes.

We bought this for our daughters' bathroom, but ended up returning it. Even tiny toddler toothbrushes wouldn't fit inside, and it definitely would not hold more than one toothbrush. Very cute, but horribly impractical design.

I love this- I'm 38, the other target age for Sanrio goods.Yeah, it has drainage trouble and should never go in the dishwasher anyway- it would melt. Mine's on my dressing table being hilarious, and sometimes holding eyeshadow brushes. But a lot of Kitty is for the Thirty Something. Like the [price] pave diamond Hello Kitty pendent, or the MAC cosmetic collection with Kitty packaging and a color range not meant for small children. And a price not suitable for dress up either.
Anybody can pick up a drill and put drainage in the bottom of this; start with a small bit as resin is fragile. But Kitty has come to be a sort of joke on the culture as much or much more than stuff for 5 year olds and maybe that's where all the sold out rocker Kitty shower curtain rings went. Small children don't play the Hello Kitty Fender guitar either. Oh yeah- Fender makes one.
So I love my supposed toothbrush holder. Rock on Kitty!

i just bought this set i haven't used it yet but i love the design tooooo cute!!! but for the other review i am sure the toothbrush holder can be put in the dishwasher to help with the cleaning problem!!!
