Fantastic Gazebo, worth every penny February 24, 2009 Reviewer:  Songbird (Warren, MI)  See all my reviews >

I have had this gazebo for 3 seasons now. I take the top off for the winter and so far it has lasted very well. The color has sun faded but that is to be expected. The best story I can tell about how sturdy this gazebo is happened the first year we had it. It had only been up a couple of weeks when a mini-tornado (that's what we were later told it was) came screaming thru our neighborhood. I watched in fear at my doorwall, sure that my beautiful gazebo would be blown to bits. Trees were bent in half and I watched as the transformer in the corner of our yard blew up - sparks everywhere. In the end my gazebo was no worse for wear, nothing AT ALL happened to it. We have it bolted to a ground level deck and it is the focal point of our backyard. We get so much more use out of our yard now that we have this shady area. Add some comfy outdoor furniture and you're in business. I heartily reccommend it to anyone.

NEED A NEW TOP EVERY TWO YEARS December 19, 2008 Reviewer:  TamSoccer "Tam" (USA)  See all my reviews >

Don't get me wrong this is a GREAT gazebo. LOVE IT except for the fact that the top needs to be replaced every two years due to sun damage if you don't pre-treat it. Ours was doing great until a few turkey vultures decided to sit on it and pick away at the material. It had two years of sun damaged. Target.com does sell the replacement canopy's when they are in-stock, which is not often. So when they do get them in-stock, buy a couple of them at a time to stay ahead of the game. Also you can get more life out of the canopy if you spray the material when new with a UV canvas protectant that you can purchase at your local Marine Supply store. Got that tip from a local canvas awning company. They say it will more than double the life of your canopy material.

I compared a lot of gezebos before buying. This particular model was the best constructed and best looking. Once bolted to my deck, it was extremely sturdy. Easy to remove tops and curtains for the winter. Frame has held up well despite the temperatures and over 2 feet of snow. Can't wait for Spring and to reassemble the tops and curtains.
By the way, tops are water repellent.

awesome worth the money March 18, 2009 Reviewer:  TiffRick "TiffRick" (Tampa, FL, USA)  See all my reviews >

I waited a year before i posted a review, because i wanted to see how the gazebo weathered. We closed on our house on 3/27/08 and from the time we found the house in Feb we were looking at gazebos, our house had a 10x10 concrete slab from the sliding back doors but no overhang. The day we moved into the house I drove down to Target and purchased the gazebo so that our moving buddies could help us put up the gazebo as well. Well after a year it looks exactly the same, I havn't noticed any fading, we are in Tampa FL were direct sun shines down on it almost every day we use are backyard daily now it doesn't leak when it rains, and gives our back yard a tropical look. I would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND IT! worth every penny!

Works like a parachutte! January 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Outdoor decorator (Pylesville, MD)  See all my reviews >

I bought this gazebo last May, because it seemed like the heaviest and strongest one out there. We sit up on a ridge in the middle of farmland, and have tremendous winds. It had withstood the high winds rather well, but yesterday was too much for it (wind gusts into the 70's). We thought it was bolted well into the ground, plus it's weight had allowed it to sink over time, but it was picked high up into the air, flew over a 5 foot fence and landed way over into the cornfield next to us. It was a mangled mess! I was shocked at the extent of the damage to the metal. We had also noticed that corners of the canopy had started to rip by about September. I love the look of it, and it is a bear to put together, but would probably buy another one, I would just make sure to remove the top (which is a major pain) in the fall, and buy longer spikes or teather it to extra ones into the ground. Not exactly something you want to replace too often.

Awesome Durability!! March 28, 2009 Reviewer:  Anita Kelley Real Name See all my reviews >

We bought this product almost two months ago. We assembled it pretty easily, but it does take two men or one tall woman and a man. I could not have reached up to help finish if the neighbor hadn't shown up to help, I don't know how the two of us would have gotten the top on. We love the unit and yesterday, a storm with 100 mile an hour winds, rain and hail came through. We thought it was a goner, but it held up fine!! We were very thankful that we had secured the posts to our deck or it probably would have flown off. The canopy is in great shape, though. Highly recommend this product.

withstands the wind February 15, 2009 Reviewer:  outdoor Dad (Kansas City, MO, USA)  See all my reviews >

I got this gazebo for Father's day 2008 and assembled it the next day mostly by myself except for final few steps. went up very easy. We have had several high wind storms and gusts up to 60-70 at times and have had no problems. It is sitting on the concrete patio and only one pole is bolted with one bolt. I would not recomend just bolting one but even so it has had no problems withstanding the weather. I did not take the top off for the winter and it seems to be ok but should have done that just to make it last longer. Looking forward to many summers under this one.

Almost a great deal April 29, 2008 Reviewer:  Leisure Lizard (Gainesville, FL,USA)  See all my reviews >

After looking at many gazebo models, I must say that the Madaga Gazebo uses the best materials. The steel supports are strong and sturdy and the roofing material is thick and should stand up to strong wind and rain. However.... I live in a wooded area in florida where the mosquito population is quite tenacious therefore, I need adequate bug netting around the gazebo for when the sun sets and the mosquitoes are at their worst. This unfortunately is where the Madaga is lacking. The netting fits around the top of the gazebo on a rail like a shower curtain which allows the bugs ulimited access to your flesh, also the netting on my unit did not reach the floor, allowing yet more unfettered access. Understandably, no netting system keeps every bug out, but you still need to slow them down. Some other high end units have a flap attached to the roofing that presses against the top seam of the netting to hinder direct flight but yet allows for the travel of the netting. Hard to justify having a gazebo I can only use as a large expensive daytime only patio umbrella. If they fix the netting problem, it's a five star.

Fantastic!!! March 24, 2009 Reviewer:  Connie S. (Madison, WI, USA)  See all my reviews >

Bought this gazebo because it seemed more substantial than all others. We have had it a year now and it made it through a Wisconsin winter without problem!
We use it for a hot tub cover and in the fall put heavy tarps around the sides. Worked out GREAT! The roof covering lasted all winter, (we would brush off 4" or more of snow), I was somewhat surprised. GREAT BUY!! I would recommend to anybody!!!
