So Sorry About This Purchase

I bought this last June and did some research and there were only a few reviews and all good. If I had read today I would never have purchased. I just took my love seat out of storage to put back on a covered porch and I was reminded of my disappointment last fall. I tried the set out at the store and found it comfortable yet when I put my set together the cushions were very bad. Also the fabric pilled and looks filthy. The wood is in good shape still and is still sturdy.

Looks great on line, looks great when set up, looks even better with pillows and books on table. After a few months the wood has faded and the cushions have yellowed. DO NOT BUY this item. They directed me to the manufacturer who told me there was nothing they could do - Great customer service!!!! VERY DISSAPPOINTED

I loved this furniture when I first bought it. It arrived in great shape and was easy to put together. I keep the furniture under a covered patio, however, the wood had faded tremendously in the course of a couple of months so it does not look that nice any more. I kept the cushions inside when not in use, so they have held up nicely. Overall, I am happy with the purchase, but it was quite a bit of money to spend on outdoor furniture that looks as though it is very old when in fact I have only had it since last summer.

I'll be honest, we didn't cover these pieces when it rained, and we weren't always able to get the cushions in on time. That said, we shouldn't have had to replace the table within two months of purchase. Fortunately, Target took back the cracked table...but it was still a pain to do. The cushions did get mildewy quite quickly. The wood is a mess, and we just bought all the pieces last year. Friends of ours bought wonderful stuff from Pottery Barn...they NEVER take ANYTHING in or cover it...and it looks fantastic after 3 years. I know they paid a lot more, but I'm now realizing it was worth it. We have to buy all new furniture this year...after spending over $1,200 last year for this stuff. We'd have been better off spending the extra $$ the first time!
Save yourself the trouble...get a different set!

We bought 4 chairs from this grouping last summer, and enjoyed them all summer long on an uncovered deck! I made a custom cover for each chair, which we used whenever we were not on the deck. We brought them inside for the winter, and now they are back outside. The only wear I see on them is a little at the very bottom of the legs, which is to be expected on wood that is exposed to the elements. It is nothing that a little protective maintenance cannot take care of. My only complaint with these comfortable chairs is that they are a bit too deep, so we added deeper throw pillows, which gave me the chance to add some decorator fabric to the mix.

We bought this set in May. It didn't even last through the whole summer before it was loosing the stain and the wood was cracked on the arms of the chairs and the sofa. The seat of the sofa completely broke and fell to the floor. We are not rough on our stuff I am very particular about keeping up with my things. Very nice looking but absolutely does not hold up. The people with the reviews saying it doesn't crack or fade have only had their furniture for a month or so looking at the dates they wrote their reviews. Just be aware that this set will not last. I love Target but am very disappointed in this set.

I agree with "unhappy mom of four". I read the label on the set claiming that it was pre-treated wood, so I neglected to brush a sealant on the set. After just two rains, the dark stain on the chairs' arms began to wear away. Now, one arm has a crack in it. Buy covers or polypropalene if you are going to buy this set.

I received this conversations set for Mother's day 2007. I did my homework, by comparing it to many other sets, and reading the reviews. At the time there were no negative reviews for this set. If I would have only waited. It sat outside for about 2 months when I noticed fading on the arms of all four pieces, as well as cracking and splintering on the sofa arms. I brought all cushions inside at any sign of rain, but sofa cushion still had signs of mildew from early morning dew. After only a few months of use I now have to sand parts of it and re-stain. Beautiful set for the price, but not for long. Needs lots of TLC to keep this set looking good!! Hope this helps.

Day 1 the products arived with missing or defective parts. Not one piece came with a full set of parts. Once I recieved all the parts the set did not even last through the summer. Do not buy this set. Expecially if it will get direct sunlight.

I bought this set last summer after doing much research about patio sets. It was gorgeous and easy to assemble when I received it (I was able to assemble it all by myself). It is a beautiful set and it made my patio look like something out of a magazine. But, the first thing I noticed was the poor quality of the cushions. They are a very low quality foam that flattens out when you sit on it, and isn't very comfortable. I was willing to deal with that, but in a short time, the supposedly weather resistant finish began to fade and then delaminate. The set looks now like it is years older than it is. The wood finish is totally faded, flaking and splitting, and the side table's top has lifted completely away from the rest of the table, curling up and splitting. I did leave the set out during the winter, but brought the cushions in any time it rained and for the entire winter, and the set just looks awful now. I will have to replace the entire set. You save money up front, but not in the long run. I'd avoid this set entirely.
