attractive but fragile October 25, 2007 Reviewer:  guitar guy See all my reviews >

I ordered two of these desks, and they arrived ahead of schedule. Both came out of the box broken. [...] Exhausted at the very thought of the return process, I decided to keep them anyway and repair them myself, since I have woodworking experience. After the necessary gluing, screwing and clamping, the desks were set up and in use. Turned out OK for me, because they look great, but if you don't want to mess with the return process/expense, and your not handy with repairs, don't take the gamble. Oh, also, within one week of use, the knobs came off.

What a deal! June 12, 2007 Reviewer:  European parents in USA (Maryland)  See all my reviews >

If you are looking for a sturdy and good looking desk, this is the one for you! We love ours! We were surprised by the quality construction for this low price.

Decent quality, decent value March 2, 2008 Reviewer:  B. Gnoz "bgnoz" (Martinez, GA United States)  See all my reviews >

We recently bought four pieces from this collection (printer stand, computer desk, corner unit and file cabinet). Together, they make a nice home office set. All these units have the following in common:

– small dimensions.... somewhat low in height, and shallow. Good for tight spaces.

– solid wood made up of 2" strips. Small knots and finger joints visible, but not too noticeable.

– bolt-together construction. Simple tools included, but not recommended... use your own.

– thin finish... smells like an oil finish, probably just a varnish.

– wood runners for drawers. Not terribly smooth

This set is a good alternative to press-board, laminated office furniture. The character is somewhat rustic, but pleasant. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy use, but for a home office it should serve well.

This desk goes together quickly, and has a nice solid feel and good weight to it. There is no drawer – the center pulls down to reveal a slide-out keyboard tray. The faux drawer is kept closed solidly with magnets.

All in all, a good purchase and and attractive, affordable piece. See my reviews of the others in the set for details on those pieces.

good quality November 18, 2007 Reviewer:  unwilling DIYer (Ocean Springs MS)  See all my reviews >

this is the first piece of furniture I ever ordered on line. I was worried it would be cheap looking but it's solid wood very well engineered so that even the weakest and less inclined DIY people can put this together. Everything you need comes with it except a small philips head screwdriver for attaching the knob to the front. PS I'm a 53 y.o woman....I did it myself.

sturdy and versatile September 19, 2007 Reviewer:  A. Cyr Real Name (Florida)  See all my reviews >

This desk is great. Very sturdy, solid wood and super easy to assemble. My kids use it all the time when they do their homework. And my husband uses it with his laptop when he works from home. My only tiny complaint is that it only comes in the one color which is a little orange-ish for me --- not a perfect match for most of the other wood stains we have in our home.

Second time was the charm January 18, 2009 Reviewer:  VAreviewerguy See all my reviews >

First one was broken during shipping (like so many other reviews). But, I was able to return it at a local Target with no problem. The second one came with a slight "stress fracture" that I was able to fix with some wood glue and clamps. If you're lucky enough to get it in one piece it's actually a decent desk. It's quite solid.

Disappointed October 1, 2008 Reviewer:  M. Schreiber Real Name (Florida, USA)  See all my reviews >

Noting the few reviews regarding broken parts I thoughtfully considered ordering this desk, despite the fact that it seemed that it would exactly meet my needs. Crossed my fingers and placed the order. Opened the moderately tattered carton with trepidation today and, sure enough, the front panel to the left of the drawer is fractured! I am now faced with having to box the desktop and ship it back. I wonder why the manufacturer has not taken immediate steps to solve their shipping problem when it is apparent that the packaging leaves the desk's top portion vulnerable to impact at the corners.

I would not buy again! September 23, 2008 Reviewer:  Disappointed Mom! (Ohio, USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought this desk for my 7 year olds room. I did receive it quickly but I am very disappointed. I bought it based on all the great reviews it got because I am not handy when it comes to tools or fixing something.
Desk came and ALL THE LEG HOLES in the desk were not drilled. This was a pain in the butt. My husband had to hand drill all the holes and measure so the legs would fit on correctly. Then the keyboard tray inserts kept falling out to we had to rig that also. Now the keyboard tray is barely hanging in on the track. There is no way I can put a keyboard on the tray without it falling out of the bottom. What should have taken 30 minutes to put together took us over 1 1/2 hours with all the drilling we had to do.
The finish is not a honey finish. It is a very orange/brown finish. Desk is a good solid wood is the only reason why I did give it one star. I doubt I will ever order furniture online again.

Love it but had to take it back! September 6, 2008 Reviewer:  Rebecca Jensen "BOOK SCRAPPING QUEEN" Real Name (Arcadia,CA)  See all my reviews >

I looked around for along while and finally found this desk and printer stand. Ordered it and when it arrived started to both together which is very easy. I noticed that the front of the desk was split in half right next to the drawer. Than when I went to put the printer stand together I found that the bottom shelf had been split also and was glued together at the factory. Took both back. This is too bad as this set would have worked out perfectly for my needs. Now I must start all over looking for another system. I would consider repurchasing it again IF it were carried at the store but it isn't and I don't want to go through the hassle of reordering and this happening again possiblity. Perhaps you will be luckier.

Good quality and good value! Problem with center knob though August 17, 2008 Reviewer:  Daniel Lieberson "Gringo in Santiago, Chile" Real Name (Santiago, Chile)  See all my reviews >

This desk is really nice and well made. It is easy to put together and has a nice look to it. It is not that large so you can't put too much on it but it is sturdy.

One issue I had was with the handle/knob which opens the center section (that section is for the slide out computer keyboard and NOT a drawer of any kind). The handle came right off the first time I used it. It seems that they do not use a very good screw system so it is difficult to fix.

I paid [less than full price] for it and it was worth that price. I would recommend it if you are looking for something simple and stylish that won't break the bank!
