Honeywell HEPA Tower Air Purifier with UV Germ Reduction

The Honeywell HHT-145 air purifier works great! I was so impressed with my the first one, I purchased in October 2007. That I bought a second one in November 2007. I did countless hours of research on the internet trying to find a good quality air purifier to replaced my two 12 year old units that where breaking the bank in filter costs. My conclusion was to buy from Honeywell!!! This air purifier has permanent easy to clean HEPA-type filters. The only filter type recommended by our U.S. government E.P.A., as safe and effective. The Ionic machines out there that use collector cells or grids produce harmful ozone! And are bad on the lungs of asthma suffers, that is according to the E.P.A. The state of California is banning the sale and use of Ionic air purifiers in 2010 (that is from their state's web site, they produce harmful ozone). Also, I read countless consumer complaints, some that are sueing these makers, for the permanent black soot on their floors, carpeting, walls etc. that these Ionic machines produce! So with all the questions about safety? I went with the Honeywell Brand! They are endorsed by the Asthma Foundation, Physician's Association, and AHAM CADR tested and certified! Not to mention Honeywell is one of only 2 manufacturer's that I found, that back their products with a 5-year warranty! The way I see it, if they back it for that long, they must be pretty sure of it's quality! The other thing I like is Honeywell and it's parent company KAZ, Inc. is American owned and operated, not to mention a family owned company. They have been in business for decades! With so many brands out there, a lot of them haven't been making air purifiers for very long! A lot of them are foreign based with poor customer service and warranties. Air purifier manufacturing is one of Honeywell's core business', it's their lively hood! Honeywell designs and engineers all their products themselves right here in America. They are not copy cats like so many other brands or out sourced. The Honeywell HHT-145 is a very high tech looking machine. It's very easy and simple to use and maintain. It's very well constructed! Has an easy to read ice blue back lit display(very easy on the eyes). The control buttons are large and very well labeled! The instruction manual is very thorough and well printed. The unit has almost infinate settings for the fans speed, an 18-hour electronic timer, UV light on/off switch, an oscillation on/off switch and a negative ion on/off switch. The unit is very quiet on low fan speeds and a little noisey on high speeds, but nothing out of the ordinary! Keep in mind with HEPA filters (because they are very dense, to trap all the pollutants) they require a strong fan to pull the air through them! Yes, you can buy silent or nearly silent machines, but they are not going to be HEPA filters. The only type to trust! If you want a quality air purifier that is well made, backed with a 5 year warranty, is certified to be safe and effective, has UV light to kill germs and mold, is easy to use and maintain and works well! Buy this Honeywell! Or one of the many other units Honeywell makes. You won't be disappointed. The consumers reviews for all Honeywell units are generally very good. You won't really find any that are negative.
