I have had this Steam Vac for less than 1 year & used it a total of 2 times & now it needs repair. The plastic seal parts where the cleaning solution & hot water go will crack or brake resulting in the leaking of water & solution all over your floor & steam vac.

I had this unit for 1 year and on my second use like many many others the clean water tank started to leak. Apparently this is a huge issue for this machine and GREAT disappointment for me.
Like many other sites that sell this product the machine leaking is one of the "bonuses" you get with this model. A big let down from hoover.

I have had this Steam Vac for two years, and mine too has had a few issues, but well worth the end result. The best way to keep the valves from leaking is completely clean the machine when you are done with it, you have to empty all of the water out, you have to remove the brushes and clean them if you have pets because the hair gets clogged and it will break those brushes. If you are having a problem with leaking, empty all the water out and try rotating the valves around. MAINTENANCE MAINTENACE MAINTENACE If you want to something to work proporly you have to maintain it and keep it clean. I LOVE MY CLEANER and it works great!!!

Very easy to assemble - easy to fill and empty. I started with my kitchen - worked excellent on vinyl floor. Then completed the dining & living rooms and the hall - worked excellent on hardwood floors. The next day, I cleaned 3 bedrooms. Found absolutely no flaws. (don't know why others had so many probelms - maybe the didn't follow the instructions or used other chemicals that were not compatible). Would highly recommend.

I just purchased this machine this past Friday night the 15th of February. I went back and forth between this model and the Bissell model that is comparible. What made my decision was after looking at both models in the store I felt that having the clean water tank and the dirty water tank separate on the machine was a more sanitary way to go. I used it on Saturday the 16th of February to clean our bedroom, hallway, dining room, and living room that are carpeted. Our carpeting is 5 years old and has never been professionally cleaned. I have the old style Bissell Green Machine Canister carpet cleaner that is approx. 15 years old and that is what I had been using to keep the carpeting what I thought was fresh and clean. The machine worked really well and we are very happy with the results. The brushes on this machine versus the comparible Bissell rotate in the opposite direction of a standard vacuum which I like too as I felt this would help really change direction of the pile and remove even more excess dirt. It did. I had no problems emptying the dirty water tank or adding clean water and more soap. With anything that is filled with water you must be careful. The end result of the cleaning is our carpets look nice and fresh and the pile on our main pathways is lifted again. This machine was easy to clean and put away. We have a cat, a 12 year old dog, and a 3 1/2 month old puppy so our carpets do see their fare share of dirt. I had no excess fuzz or hair getting stuck in the rotating brushes as some had complained about and no leaking of the tanks both dirty or clean whatsoever. I do think that it is a must to clean everything well and let is dry completely before putting it away. I clean our carpets only 2 times per year so as not to wear out the color or the fabric. I will add that a good vacuum is the key to keeping any carpets looking good on a daily basis. I do have the Dyson DC17 for pet hair and I know that having such a good vacuum certainly helps in not having an excessive build up of dirt, human or pet hair and dander. I was completely happy with this choice and even more so now that I have used the machine so I would tell anyone if you care for your home and your things this cleaner will definately not let you down. Remember Target has a 90 day return policy even if it is used.

I have been doing a lot of homework with steam vacs and testing out various types and brands. I borrowed this steamer from a neighbor and this was the WORSE one! It would not stop leaking! So much water leaked that I had to get another steamer just to suck up all the water on my carpet. The portable brush was just as bad. I would NOT recommend this steamer to anyone!

I purchased this unit about a year ago, and used it four times. The tank that stores the water and solution began leaking on the fourth usage. There is a design flaw that creates a leaking problem at the base of the tank near one of the two valves. Now, or course, I will need to replace the tank unit at my expense. I'm disappointed with the quality of the product.

I purchased this in the middle of January and the attachment did not spray. I returned and bought another one and just recently used it. The attachment leaks like crazy! For 300.00 I expected much better. It did an okay job cleaning the carpets and tile floors but it just leaks like crazy! It is going back to the store tomorrow! I would not recomment this product to anyone.
