I bought and used this cooler for one vacation--very useful! Then the power cord stopped working and I searched far and wide for a replacement. Second one also broke and I contacted about 30 Targets in California, several other places, the internet sites, and finally Igloo---"no longer available" from all. So, now I have an expensive and useless "electric cooler"---I am totally disappointed in both Target and Igloo.

We've had our Igloo Kool Mate for years. Never had a problem. We use it all the time for camping, in hotel rooms, or traveling in the car. I recommend it to everyone I know.

We have had our Igloo Kool Mate 40 Portable Electric Cooler for 8 years (purchased it when we started travelling with small children). We have never experienced the slightest problems with it. It follows us on all trips, plugged into the utility plug in our car or the outlet in a hotel. Just this year our cooler has run 3 x 70 days straight in a hospital room for a young friend of ours. We could not be more pleased.

I liked this product, so when the first one I'd bought quit working, I bought a new one. As it turns out, both coolers are fine. However, in both cases, the power cord from the cooler to the cigarette lighter quit working. The second one began to melt in my cigarette lighter. I confirmed all of this with another power cord that does work. The concept is nice, and when the cooler works, it's great. However, it is very disappointing to spend this amount of money on a cooler and to have a faulty power cord render it useless. This disappointment is exacerbated by having lost the expensive contents of the cooler when it quit working. I'm going back to my old fashioned cooler with ice.
