We just received this as a wedding gift and it is great! Its super easy to use with no hastle. Just push the button down to open the bottle then up to remove the cork from the machine. Its nice looking too, on the top it lights up red. It does take up some counterspace though since its tall.

This is an awesome device. Makes opening wine so much easier. i was introduced to it by a cousin of my husbands who put it on her wedding registry. We bought it for her and were so impressed that we have since bought several as gifts, and now most members of our families have them! No one has ever had one break to the best of my knowledge. Once in a blue moon you will have trouble with a cork with it, but you'd have that trouble with any kind of wine opener-sometimes you just get a bad cork! I highly recommend this item for you and as a gift!

I got it for Christmas and thought it was pretty cool... at first. Opening bottles effortlessly. Then it pulled out half a cork, leaving the rest in the bottle. I pressed the button to spit out the piece of cork from the opener and tried again. It stopped working. Now it only goes in one direction. It's a corkscrew, what could possibly go wrong right? I had already thrown out the box. Should I tell my gift giver that I need them to dig out their receipt? That's kinda embarrassing. I think I'll go back to the old fashioned corkscrew that always works and never breaks. Don't buy this one!

My Mom loves her glass a wine in the evenings. But always had a hard time opening the bottles. I saw this gadget in 2006 and bought it for her for Christmas...she loves it. Granted I had to remind her several times to hold the button down until the opener stopped of it's own accord, (which is when the cork will be fully out of the bottle), but now this is the easiest opener in the world and stays charged a LONG time.
She wants me to order one for her to give my sister-in-law for Christmas this year...and I plan on doing it.

This Oster Wine Bottle opener is the best. Like previous review, don't listen to negative reviews. You will love this item and when you learn how to use it right, you will have one everywhere you go. It makes a great gift! Surprisingly, many people do not have this item. A friend even wanted to Skype us the other day on their video to show us how much they love it. It's a gift no one will forget..unique..different and you will always want to own one or two yourself. Best wine opener product..cuts top of wine paper off and then VOILA! Opened in no time! I'm buying 2 more right now for gifts!

Don't listen to the reviews that it didn't work properly. If you follow the directions you will find that this is an awesome product!! We bought it 2 years ago and it is still going strong!! Not to mention that we also have large wine tasting parties throughout the year and drink at least 2 bottles a week and only use this as our primary bottle opener! Now all of our friend have this bottle opener too and they love it!!

I was delirious with excitement when I got this home and tried it. I met surprising resistance. The cork was never fully extracted on the first try. Love the concept, but the application is a bit sloppy.

Okay, I will admit I was a little leary of this before I got one but the reviews seemed okay and it was [not expensive] so I went for it; I bought it as a gift for my sister in-law and then my mom got me one too!
This is by far the BEST gift a wine lover could EVER get! Once charged, it is so easy to use and the little foil cutter works like a champ. I was amazed that I could literally put my left hand on the bottle to hold it in place on the counter, put my right and on the machine and press the button and about 10 seconds later, POP! The cork is out and inside the machine and no pulling or straining was needed. And NO BROKEN CORKS!!! You know how those cheapy non cork ones like to push into the bottle? Not with this thing!!!
