So I just bought these Jaybird earphones. First off let me just say this is my first review. I've been finding reviews pretty helpful, but in the end I usually just try things out anyways. Different for everyone right? Well, I'm very happy with them...charged them up adjusted the earphones and they're awesome. My iPod is actually in the other room and I can still hear just fine. I cut off half a star ]though whether you think it should be a full star or whatever]...because it's cutting out a tiny bit. Not a huge prob...unless it bothers you that much. That's the only thing at the moment. As far as the earphones bein a pain to put on...yes at first, but once you get them adjusted a bit...they're fine i can move my head all crazy...[when jammin out] and they stay, comfortably i might add. So I think if you're really thinkin bout going wireless. TRY IT!

I purchased these because my wildly swinging arms always seemed to knock the headphone jack out of my iPod -- annoying, right? The Jaybirds seemed to be the best fit for me, as behind-the-head sets with the hard plastic band always seem to flop around the back of my neck (I have a small head, haha).
I was concerned about the fit, as I had read a lot of reviews on both Target.com and other website about the earpieces being difficult to fit. Let me say, that was not my experience at all. I am a female with small ears, but I got them in very snug and had no issues while running. The earbuds do not form a vacuum seal with your ear canal, but as a runner of busy Seattle streets, I find that a positive. They do require some fiddling to get exactly right, but ten minutes out of your day the first time ensures a quick fit the next 100 times.
The connection was easy enough once I read the manuals, and I have had good reception indoors for the width of my (admittedly small) apartment. I don't know about outdoors, as I am generally using my armband, and the connection is crystal clear.
I can't really comment on the comparative sound quality, as I bought these for working out, not high fidelity music enjoyment. They do their job extremely well, and ordering from Target was a pleasure as usual.

Sound quality wasn't bad and easy to use, but very uncomfortable over the ears and range was not very good from my iPod, kept cutting out.

I returned these because of a certain feature lacking and should have been made aware of beforehand after all the reviews from online forums. I needed hands free with voice command activation by using the receive and end call / play button. The Jaybird will not. Even the earliest of Bluetooth headsets have this feature enabled. I took a shot in the dark thinking they would have this feature standardized by now. If Jaybird had this feature enabled I would have enjoyed keeping it. I took away 1 star for this reason. Also if you are around loud equipment you will lose sound quality. By design Jaybird is designed to fit on the ear well but not into the ear canal as ear buds do. Therefore the bass is lacking because of this design. I took away 1 star for this reason. I was worried that my small ears and head would be an issue but it fit well, so I gave 3 stars for this reason.

the [price] should definitely get you the best headphones. THE ear pieces stick out so much. I got them to use with my ipod and when i go biking. When their on your head you can't turn(your head) without them falling off!! I though the wireless would be cool but its not so im waiting until they get better. Plus, they waste battery life and you have to charge them separately than your ipod. I got the $50 skullcandy in ear( with a wire) and the quality is much better and idc about the wire anymore. Don't get these wireless ones!

Much Better Than Others

I’ve tried other Bluetooth headsets, and this is by far the best pair that I’ve owned. I’ve put it through various tests in the two weeks that I’ve owned them. Using my iPod attached to an armband the headphones were flawless on my first 2 hour jog. Later I came home and mowed my lawn with the transmitter in my sweatshirt pocket. I did experience some very minimal interruptions (less than 3 seconds at a time and fewer than 5 times). The system also worked well in the gym. I kept it on the ground as I worked out on various machines. The only time the signal dropped out is when I walked away further than 20 feet to drink water. It was perfect while I was on the elliptical machine. On another run I did experience some minimal brief dropouts. But, I had my ipod in my jacket pocket and I was also wearing a skull cap that covered the headsets. I haven’t used it for any phone calls, but it also worked well listening to music on my cell phone. For maximum performance, the manufacturer suggests that you locate the transmitter close to the headsets with a clear sight path. Even when I didn’t follow these suggestions, I was very happy with the performance of the headsets. The headsets come with a manufacturer lifetime warranty against sweat damage.
The headset does have some room for improvement. I wish they came with interchangeable earpieces with different sizes to get a better custom fit. The buttons are not as responsive as I would like them to be. Perhaps this helps against accidental bumps. Also, the volume will not compensate well for files that have low audio. Overall, I'm extremely happy with their perfomance so far.

BETTER THAN EXPECTED

I have read so many reviews from cnet and on retail sites that i was expecting them to cut out at least a little bit. I have an Iphone 3gs and after using for 5 hours, it has not cut out once! I connected it to my older Iphone 3g and it did cut out a little after about 10 minutes of playing, but on my 3gs, not a single blip! I think there must have been some hardware update that helps with bluetooth signal on new 3gs. I give it 4 stars only because the use of phone only plays audio on left ear, not both and microphone is a little weak for listeners that I am on phone with. Overall, good deal.

I had a Motorola S9 headset, which had nice sound, but was uncomfortable to wear, and I lost use of the volume buttons (which I learned is a common problem when working out) I've used the Jaybird for a week. I carry my phone on my hip, but towards the back, and havent had any reception problems at the gym or out biking. The headset stays put on my head, and I hardly notice it's there.
The bass is lacking, but that's easily fixed if you have a TCMP or Coreplayer or any other media player with equalizer capabilities on your cell phone.
I'd given it 5 stars if it had a replaceable battery.

Trying to go bluetooth in the real world

I am very active and bought while cycling and running, and I kept them till the last day before returned them for a refund. They work great around the home. But like all blue tooth headsets I've tried once you go into th real world every little thing matters, location of where you player is critical, if you turn your head. They just don't seem to fit as good they did back home. They also did not allow me to use all my phone features. I was really hopeful but I have to give the next batch of headset a try when they come out.

The sound is pretty good, and it's a dream not having a dangling headphone cord getting in the way while I'm working around the house or in the yard. I hated to give it up, but I had two serious issues with the Jaybird. First, it's not a universal fit. No matter how much I tried, I just couldn't get it to fit comfortably over my big floppy ears. Second, the two foot distance is just too darn short. It's next to useless with my laptop, and the sound kept cutting out even when my iPod was on my right hip. The manual recommends using a case that straps to the upper arm, and claims that this is an issue on all stereo bluetooth headsets. If this is true bluetooth technology is just not ready for stereo sound. If you're lucky enough that the Jaybird fits your ears, and you don't mind duct taping your iPod to your upper arm, you'll probably love it.
