LOVE it March 19, 2008 Reviewer:  McKay "BostonPotter" (Boston United States)  See all my reviews >

Do you know someone moving into their first apartment? Getting married? Having a baby? Do you know someone who doesn't have one of these? At this price, it's a great gift. I've had mine since 2002 and it's still working great. I use it several times a month. HOWEVER this product is an introduction to food processing. When I moved in with my boyfriend, who had the same size but cuisinart brand, his was pretty old but came with a variety of blades that did different cuts. I use mine more for dips, pesto, onions, and spreads. His is a cross between a mandolin slicer and this. So if you want the product to do more, then get something else, but you'll also be paying more. For what this does and considering the price, it is a top priority in my kitchen.

Could have been so much better with a 4 cup bowl January 29, 2009 Reviewer:  Jalida See all my reviews >

I don't know why they chose a 3 cup bowl, it's just a bit too small, where as the 12 cup is way too large for our unaverage family (LOL).

Perhaps it's just tradition (i.e. 3 cup bowl has always been an option) or perhaps they are trying to keep the price down since it sells at a good price. Whatever it is, 3 cups is too small and we have to often empty it when making things like shredded chees for mac and cheese, or stuff for a waldorf salad, which after a while is just a bummer. Plus, if it were 4 cups, we could just store the contents in the bowl until ready to use it for the meal.

Faulty built in safety December 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Shannon See all my reviews >

Received this as a wedding gift but having issues. Problem seems to be the built in safety. When both the lid and the work bowl are snapped in place a peg is pushed into a slot on the base that serves as a safety. Chopper will not function unless peg is fully inserted. Even when all is snapped in on mine the peg does not stick out far enough to turn off the safety. However when it does work (I was able to rig it with a screwdriver) it chops VERY nicely. Working to get mine replaced but annoyed at the hassle.

I wouldn't survive without it! May 30, 2008 Reviewer:  Hondo Honey (La Ceiba, Honduras)  See all my reviews >

This snazzy little number has turned me into a kitchen lover! I used to despise cooking and spending time in the kitchen. Now, each visit to the kitchen puts a smile on my face. I use mine 4-5 times a week. Some of my favorite uses are mincing fresh garlic, easy homemade hummus, and instant salsa. This little machine makes using fresh ingredients fun. I press the button for a few quick pulses- and BAM!- I've got a snack. Try it out!

Highly Recommend January 16, 2009 Reviewer:  Jenny M (Michigan)  See all my reviews >

I’ve had this food chopper for 4 ½ years and I still love it. I’m so glad I went with this one rather than a cheaper less reliable version. I’ve used it quite frequently over the years for all kinds of things and have run the parts through the dishwasher many times and it still chops like day one. Its only problem is that the blade is getting a little tricky to pull out. It tends to want to pull the whole gear shaft out with it, but it’s easy enough to get back in. Couple tips: I’ve learned not to fill it completely. If food has more room to move in it, you’ll end up with much better consistency, rather than a bunch of mush and huge chunks. Also, you’ll notice the lid has two sides, one with English instructions and one with French. Oddly enough, I’ve found that the English side is much easier to close. So if you have trouble getting past the safety feature to get it to start, try that.

very difficult to turn on September 21, 2008 Reviewer:  Ryan's wife (Sacramento, CA)  See all my reviews >

I received this chopper as a wedding gift. It worked great the first time I used it. The second time I attempted to use the chopper, I had to use all of my strength and force on the pulse button to get it to work. I'm attempting to get it replaced under the warranty. I think maybe I just have a faulty chopper, I have many other kitchenaid products that I'm very happy with.

my little processor! September 28, 2007 Reviewer:  Anna M. Mueller "coffee diva" Real Name (columiba illinois)  See all my reviews >

i recieved this item as a wedding gift. it is perfect for my husband and i. his favorite thing for me to make him is salsa!!! when i have dinner parties i love to use this little guy for dips, pestos, sauces, pie crusts, ect... its perfect for little items but if you have a family of 4 or more you might want to up grade! (i think it would be great for baby food!) the blade is extremly powerful. and it has a lot of gitup... there is even a opening in the lid for you to drizzle liquid in!

Ughhhh!!!! October 8, 2009 Reviewer:  CR0321 "CR0321" (Houston, TX)  See all my reviews >

I'm one to typically give a product the benefit of the doubt after reading a bad review...just in case I got the "good batch". NOT the case for this "nifty" little chopper, unless you want to always have a butter knife handy to wedge into the safety so the darn thing will start choppin' like it's supposed to. It works fine in that case, but I'm sure sticking a metal object into an electrical appliance is not the ideal way to go. If you hate chopping tomatoes or onions like I do, it's worth rigging it a little...I guess...

disposable!! April 29, 2008 Reviewer:  Natasha C. Zepernick Real Name See all my reviews >

I don't find the need to use a food processor very often, & I have already gone through two of these items--one lasted three months & two uses, & another lasted less than a year & probably about half a dozen uses. Maybe they only work if you use them on a regular basis? A COMPLETE waste of money!!
