I recently received this blender as a "just because" gift from my mother. It is fabulous. I've never seen ice chip so quickly and finely. It is great for making slurpy drinks for my children. The blender is well made and is very heavy.

I researached a lot of blenders before buying this one, and I'm very happy with my choice. I love that you don't have a bunch of pieces to take apart and clean--just the cannister and top. It blends quickly and easily. The base is pretty heavy, but the polycarbonate cannister is light and manageable. I think this will last a long time, and it was worth spending a little more to get a good, durable blender.

Makes HUGE margaritas. Perfect for parties. My only complaint is how you have to clean it- Very Carefully. the pieces don't detach, which CAN be a good thing, but is also very dangerous when you stick your hand down there to scrub. No cuts yet, but I'm being careful!

Now this is a blender that will hold up! Very sturdy! I particularly like that the blade mechanism doesn't come out of the bottom so you have to wash several pieces. The ice crusher pulses...does a great job. I made a shake today with ice and frozen bananas and it blended them with ease to an almost ice cream-like consistency. Well worth the extra money.

I love this blender.......it truly is the best I've ever seen out there on the market......its easy to clean......works very well it crushes ice like a knife goes trough butter.......I love it......im actually speechless right now......YOU MUST BUY THIS BLENDER IF YOU READ MY REVIEW

I had great hopes for this blender since it has features that I like -- plastic bowl and all-in-one blade/bowl. However, no matter what speed you use it seems like the contents splashes to the top so that if you remove the top access port to add liquid -- unless you turn it off -- the contents flies all over the counter. Which kind of defeats the purpose if you're making a salad dressing or mayonnaise that calls for adding oil slowly to emulsify.

This blender works so well, but the damage to my hearing has me concerned. The first time I used it, my ear rang for three days. It sounded like I was in a tunnel. The second time, it happened again. It was then I realized that it was the the loudness of the blender. It is really really loud. I am going to keep it. It does everything well, but I will use ear plugs when I turn it on.

In 20 years, this is only our 2nd KitchenAid blender after our "starter" blender in another brand had a short life. We bought our 1st KA blender because the pitcher could stand on the counter without the base, a new feature at that time.

I was pleased to find that KA improved their rotator design to eliminate the possibility of wearing it out, the issue that caused us to search for a new blender. At first, I was disappointed that KA no longer offers the glass pitcher for this model. However, with 4 small children who help cook, I readily accepted this polycarbonate pitcher.

I chose the onyx to match my stainless & black appliances. Fortunately, other colors are offered to coordinate with your favorite kitchen pallette.

I searched specifically for the KitchenAid blender because it lasted almost a decade of weekly pancake mixing for our family of 6. Also, I searched several retailers, incl. the manufacturer's Internet store. I found Target had the best total cost (including taxes, s & h) even when other retailers had it on sale.

I recommend this Kitchen Aid for someone who will use it regularly for years!
