i have the cheapest kitchenaid (classic) and i love it! I have had it for about 5 years w/no problems and can't imagine why it took me so long to buy one! i use it to make bread dough (with the dough hook) cookies, cakes, frosting, etc and have only 1 little issue, sometimes w/cake mix the whipping blade doesn't get all the mix at the bottom so you do have to get a rubber spatula down in there during the process. this is the best, most used appliance i have ever bought!

I will never buy another brand. i LOVE KitchenAid! i bought this mixer and the blender too and i will never buy anything else. It has great power to take thick batters but the level options to do very slow mixes(such as when a recipe calls for you to fold something into a batter. The attachement options are great too. Just be sure that you have countertop space since this mixer is very heavy. You will not want to continually take it in and out of a storage space.

I have had this mixer for over 30 years with only one problem--I had to replace the plate that the bowl sits on. Really a minor fix that I did myself. I have used this mixer for everything--bread, cakes, cookies, whipping cream and beating egg whites (you can do other things while the egg whites beat which always helps). I also have the grinding attachment which works great. Like another reviewer said--when I got this one, it was what was available for home use. I got my daughter a Kitchen-Aid.

This is the FIFTH small home appliance from Target that has failed on me. I love this mixer, but within one month of first using it, the pin came out (the one that the top swivels on). Then the front attachment cover started coming loose while the mixer runs. The mixer makes a loud knocking noice while running. Also, after mixing bread dough, it is nearly impossible to remove the bowl from the stand because the action of the dough hook causes the bowl to become jammed in place. I will NEVER buy another appliance from Target again!!!

I have used my Kitchenaid mixer for over 20 years. It's still going strong. I strongly suggest that anyone who is considering purchasing a mixer, buy this Kitchenaid. The initial cost outlay is little more, but it will last a homemaker's lifetime!

Like others have said, this has been the gold standard of stand mixers for generations. I do lots of sourdough everything and this mixes big batches without even blinking an eye. Get it; you'll love it; don't even bother with the other brands; it's more than worth the price. As for the "loose pin" described in previous reviews, here's the fix, it's easy. You'll need a flat-head screwdriver for this. Unplug your mixer, remove the bowl and any attachments, and lock the head. Now, with a towel under it to prevent sliding and scratching, carefully lay your mixer down on its side. Look up into the "neck" of the base and you'll see the big pivot pin and a tiny "set screw". Using your hands, center the pivot pin in the neck. You may have to unlock the head and jiggle it a little. Now, keeping the pivot pin centered with one hand, tighten the set screw with the screwdriver in your other hand. Stand it back up and try it out. You should be able to feel the pivot pin rotate as you tilt the head up and down. There, you're done! Now back to mixing! I love this mixer, and my Mom's before it! They work beautifully and they're tough as a tank! Just get it! You know you want it! By the way, I got mine (Classic Plus) at Target for $! Sweet!

I received this as a wedding gift recently (I'd been wanting one for years). This is a marvelous mixer...better than other brands that I had used in the past. I would not only recommend this mixer (quality, ease of use, not to mention that it's just soooo cool) but I know what I'll be getting others for wedding gifts from now on. I swear I don't know how I lived without my mixer. I was always afraid to make bread...not now. With my KitchenAid....all things are possible.

I love this mixer. When I bought it I wasn't sure if it was really just going to collect dust in my kitchen - but I use it for everything! I LOVE it! I have had mine for 2 years and could not be happier with it. (*the next sentance is a new edit to my old review... *this mixer can only mix one batch at a time - I now wish I had a larger mixer so that I could make double batches!)

I absolutely love this mixer! I can make anything within minutes! I have neck problems and i used to have to wait for my hubby to get home to make things because i can't mix things for long! But this mixer is amazing! I love it! If you know someone who loves to bake, buy it for them. They will love it as much as i do!
