This hand chopper is just amazing. Not only does it chop your food, it also converts into a mini tupperware to store it. Just twist off the plastic ring, attach the base, and place the chopped goods inside. It comes with a lid that snaps on so you can chop in advance and the food stays fresh. The pieces come apart so easily for clenaing, too. Another viewer mentioned that it doesn't come clean because the blade cover doesn't come off. Don't worry, it does, but you have to push down on the handle to extend the blades - then the back piece twists right off. Definately an efficient chopper for the right price! I'm very happy with it.

This chopper is great! It doesn't only chop in one direction it also scrapes the walls and turnes in different angles getting all the big stuff. The food can get pressed down at the bottom, so just a little tip and shake will lift it. A word of caution: don't push it too many times on walnuts (any nut). In just a few presses my walnuts almost became powder! This product is VERY EASY to clean. I was amazed at how this thing can just come ALL apart. You will not have to worry about food getting stuck in the blades or even behind the blade plate. I am right now holding it and I just found out that once you take all of the coverings off (just twist and pull all 3 parts) you can check to see if there is any food that might have crept past the blade plate thing by holding the body in one hand & pushing the handle in with the other. Now I have not chopped many food items yet, but it sure can chop walnuts and onions very nicely. I just had to stand up for this little choppy thing! Time to make dinner, my husband's hungry. :)

I expected a quality product with the name "kitchenaid". I was very disappointed in this product. It is very difficult to clean and I felt like I was going to break it to take the blade cover off to clean it. I don't think it was designed to take off but if you don't food will get trapped. I returned this and am currently looking for another. I may go back to Pampered Chef which is where my old one is from.

it's only good for chopping garlic, mushrooms, and similar food items. it does not chop herbs or anything with a lot of water in it (like green onions) or anything hard (like ginger). the blade cover keeps falling off in mid-chop. overall, it's handy if you use a lot of garlic, but it's also something of a pain to use.

I love this chopper. It's convenient, works perfect, and is easy to clean. I've used it for garlic, onion, artichoke, and nuts. I have seen one just like it at a Pampered Chef party that wasn't any better, and it cost 2 or 3 times as much! You can't go wrong with this.

I was super excited for my new chopper to arrive. Disappointed. It only chops a tiny amount at a time and is hard to clean. I never use it.

I used this on onions/green peppers to make them smaller after I had cut them, but it didn't work so well. Maybe the vegetables were too hard to cut through. Seems like it would work well on garlic and nuts as someone commented.

I used this food chopper once so far. It seemed to be only mediocre in chopping the onions I needed for a recipe. Maybe I put too many onions in it... I don't know. But it didn't seem as awesome as I had hoped. It also seems hard to clean. I put it in the dishwasher, but because the onions stuck to both sides of the blades, I had to run it through the dishwasher twice (spinning it around so the water hit the other side the 2nd time through). It did a decent job, but it just didn't seem to be what I had hoped. Maybe try another brand?

I received this as a shower gift. I wish they made it in black. But I figured it wouldn't be sitting out anyways. First time I used it, it worked alright. You have to press pretty hard to chop some veggies. It's rather hard to clean up too, I just threw it in the dish washer. Thing worries me is most choppers come completely apart so you can get inside to clean, this doesn't.
