Kitchenaid a let down! January 10, 2009 Reviewer:  Melissa Bernard Real Name (Worcester. MA)  See all my reviews >

I was beginning to suspect that Kitchenaid's reputation for making quality products was not true... I have been purchasing their products for years with not much satisfaction (shame on me!). My stand mixer is okay (when it's not throwing potatoes out of the bowl or completely missing the flour on the bottom of the bowl) but other than that everything has been horrible! I first purchased their regular ice cream scoop (the one that ice cream adheres to like glue after the first scoop and the finish chips off) I decided to replace it with this scoop. I mostly wanted to use this scoop to make cookies. I used the scoop three times and it worked like a charm. On the fourth time the scraper popped out of the scoop and would not go back inside. The scoop still seemed to work (and I didn't have the reicept anymore) so I washed it and put it back in the drawer.

My husband tried to use it tonight on some ice cream and the scoop exploded all over the counter and in his ice cream. I wish I could get my money back but we've had it too long. I'll never buy another Kitchenaid product. They always disappoint.

broke the first time we used it, difficult to return (gift) March 28, 2009 Reviewer:  Christopher Cutlip Real Name (Akron, OH)  See all my reviews >

we got this ice scream scoop as part of our wedding registry. the very first time we used it, the plastic piece that operates the lever broke. since it was a gift from our registry, i had a hard time trying to return it. of course we threw away the packaging when we first got it because who would imagine it wouldn't work...it's an ice cream scoop. i tried to take it to the store and they said they couldn't do anything for me. i will try to return via the registry return process but i don't get a warm and fuzzy that will be easy. avoid this product. we may try a solid version (without the mechanism).
