My 5 year old hasn't really connected with any of the other Wii games as he has this one. He plays LEGO Indiana Jones every day after school and has somehow managed to gather up over .... he just finished the game last night as we're picking up the Stars Wars edition right now.
Some of the things I love about the Lego series:
1.) Characters don't 'die' they explode into lots of little Lego pieces.
2.) Almost any age can play this game and have fun- you can even just go around for hours kicking and whipping plants and gathering money you get from them.
3.) There is a wonderful strategy ethic for the younger kids to figure out how to make things work and reach certain areas. Better hide the kid's Christmas presents a little better this year after this game- kids will figure out how to reach those high places in no time.
4.) The music is very engaging, it's a lot like the original symphony orchestra music so you don't completely feel like you are playing a game- you are choosing your own movie adventure!
I definitely recommend this game!

The LEGO themed video games are definitely getting better. While some of the cut scenes change the storylines a bit, that's because they're trying to keep an E rating. (Besides, I'm not sure how you cut a heart out of a LEGO guy!) The changes they make are reasonable.
The gameplay is great for kid and adult. You can go thru all 3 movies to get to the endgame - or you can combine Story and Free Play to collect every bit of the game's little hidden bits. (Including unlocking several Star Wars characters!) It's fun and it always makes me giggle. My only complaint is that I'd like to be able to pick from all of my unlocked characters when I go into Free Play. I usually disagree with the group I get stuck with.

My 7 year old and husband play this game together. They really enjoy playing it together. Some things are difficult for the 7 year old to do, so Daddy does it. So, if you buy it for your kids to do alone, you may want to keep that in mind.
The game is set up to get you to the "end" of the story fairly quickly, but the actual game is no where close to being done. You go back and make new discoveries and unclock new things.

This game is fun but is hard to finally finish. The games are hard to finish and you get really into it. I would give this to anyone who really likes to solve the game and stuff. But it's fun

I got this game when it first came out for Wii for $. The game stunk! You coudn't save your game until you finished like an entire level which meant it never saved any of my stuff, the intro video is like 5 minutes long-YOU CAN'T SKIP IT, the controls so boring (nunchuck joystick to move forward, A to use whip/gun/shovel/etc.), and only 2 players. I sold it the next day to a friend from school for $so I lost $ too! Save yourself some money and get a FUN game like Mario Kart or Wii Sport Resort. Hope this helps!

My brother bought this game yesterday and he is obsessed with it. He won't stop playing. I have to admit it is really fun. There is so much to do and it never gets old (except when your enemies keep coming back) but you never know what's coming your way. I'm not that far, only 2 percent done with the entire game so there is a lot to it. It is Jam Packed with fun for all ages. It is well worth the money and you won't regret buying it. The next Wii Game that you buy should be this one.
