Looks great but falls apart

Reviewer:  unhappy mom  (NJ)  See all my reviews

After riding just a short time the bike started to fall apart. The entire front components fell apart releasing the front tire as my daughter was riding. We thought it was just an assembly problem brought it to a bike store to be fixed. The back break and only break broke also and had to be fixed, then again while riding the chain popped off a few times. The final straw was when, for no reason we could find, the chain no longer turned the wheels. We thankfully could still return it. After spending an extra plus on repairs we should have returned from the start!

Slightly Disappointed

I ordered this bike and had it professionally assembled and I must say I was slightly disappointed. There is something cheap about the bike construction ie. filmsy chrome and cheap pedals....Also there were missing parts from the box...missing a few screws. Not exactly pleased with the bike handling either. Although I have received tons of compliments on the looks. Also you need to maintain the chrome or it will rust....I would have been better off getting the Clear Creek model (sage green).

terrible customer service and quality

the product itself is a great looking and comfortable bike. the package arrived days after it said that it should have, when it finally did arrive the box was torn to shreds and pieces of the bike were missing, the front tire is defective and i had to buy my own hardware for attaching pieces of the bike. when i went into my local target store to find out what i could do they told me "nothing" unless i take the bike back apart and pay for shipping for a new one. i would definetly think twice before purchasing a bicycle online again. my local target told me that it was the only way that i could obtain the bike i wanted though. very disappointed with target. guess i better go try wal-mart next time.

Awesome Bike, Rides & Looks Like a Dream!!

Reviewer:  Debra M.  (upstate NY)  See all my reviews

I have owned this bike for about 3 weeks now & I have to say I absolutely LOVE it! I read the reviews ahead of time so was forewarned of possible assembly problems. I called the local Target store & had them save one for me (they had 2). Went to pick it up and rear fender was scratched, was missing a reflector and when I sat on it, the seat went down(they had used wrong bolt & it was stripped)! Asked to see the 2nd bike, this one had scratches on the bike itself. Asked if we could take "good parts from one bike & put them on the other(we came prepared w/ tools!!) They said yes so thats what we did! My husband had to "tune" the bike up but once that was done it rides LIKE A DREAM!! I LOVE THIS BIKE! The moral of this story is, I you have issues with this bike & want to keep it ALL the problems that are in the other reviews are FIXABLE if the bike is PROPERLY TUNED!! Find someone who can do this for you and you too will LOVE THIS BIKE!!!!

Love the Look!

Reviewer:  DPR Crusier  See all my reviews

I purchased my bike back in Feb and I love everything about it, excepted the the front axle is bent(a problem that makes the bike to bend to the right a bit, and I did not see at first) and the gears are hard to change. I got the bike for such a steal I couldent take it back. It was on sale for 149 and the tiers were dirty so they gave me an extra 15% off making it 130 out the door. So because of that I have decided to live with the minor issues. I also bought the in step bike trailer and pull my two youngest in it and have had no problems! I will buy this bike for my oldest daughter when she is taller because she loves it!!!!!

Completely Satisfied

Reviewer:  Happy Grandma  (Bakersfield, CA)  See all my reviews

I wanted a bike to ride around the neighborhood with my 5 year old grandson. I decided on a beach crusier style and the color would be anything but pink. I looked at every department store in town and finally found a Huffy I really liked at a great price but the reviews were not good. I found a couple of potential bikes at Target and had decided to purchase the Jaguar style but then changed my mind at the last minute. Even though I had to swallow my pride and purchase a pink bike it was worth it. This bike is so much more comfortable than the other and the spring action on the front of the bike makes a world of difference. If you are contemplating on purchasing the bike, don't. It is well worth the money they are asking. If the bike is assembled correctly you shouldn't have any problems.

Cheap parts. The stars are for looks only.

Reviewer:  mtDakota  (Bismarck, ND)  See all my reviews

I love the way this bike looks, but even after much bolt loosening, adjusting, and re-tightening, I'm afraid that the bike is quite a disappointment. The brakes are so cheap! I would never take this bike down a hill.. I don't think the rear brakes could stop me if I really needed them to. ANd why only rear brakes? Most adult bikes have both rear and front brakes. It would be different if the brakes were good quality, but they are not. Also, I had the front alignment problem, too. The only way I could solve this is to adjust it myself and now the fron shock absorber looks crooked even though the bike functions well. I now wish that I had taken the bike back, but it is too late. Also, it is already rusting on the handlebars and fenders even though it has only gotten wet a few times and it is less than a year old. I have even waxed the bike to prevent rust!

I think this bike is great!

Reviewer:  Rainy  See all my reviews

I don't live far from work and decided that now that the weather is nice I wanted to bike to work. I haven't had a bike since I was 14 and hadn't been on one since then. When I saw this bike with it's white wall tires and retro look I knew this is the bike I wanted. I've read some reviews and for those of you looking for a basket to fit the front, Wald.com can help you out. Most street riding is smooth and quiet so I don't have the rattling noise that others have had. All in all, for the price, I think this bike is great!

Bad Quality

Reviewer:  S. Richards "S. Richards"  (Indianapolis, IN)  See all my reviews

As soon as I was this bike at target i instantly fell in love. I am going to college next year and I thought it was a practical bike for riding around campus. Well I was wrong I get it home and the seat, the handle bars, and the wheels are completely broken. The rubber part of the tire wasnt even attached to the rim, I was very dissapointed in the low quality of the bike. It is a very attractive bike, but make sure you inspect every detail of the bike because it doesnt seem to be the best.

tough call

Reviewer:  3cuteboys  (Long Island, NY)  See all my reviews

I got the Roxie for Mother's Day and visually it is everything everyone has written. I had no issues with the seat but did have the chain/gear/brake rubbing issues. Paid a big price to have that fixed and to have the shock absorber straightened out because the handlebars if you let go of them while riding would not remain straight. They would literally go right - HARD. Lots of pressure on the right wrist to keep the the handlebars straight while riding. Well our bikeshop fixed everything nicely except shortly after riding the handlebars started veering right again. No one else has mentioned this in all the reviews. So sadly, after spending sixty bucks to fix it we will quite likely be bringing her back. And yes, while the seat was comfy for me the whole ergonomics of the bike - not so much- I'm 5'7 (mostly legs- that could be why) I put tough call because my main problem no one else had - and lots of what people complained about in my opinion aren't deal breakers but you really do have to try it out for yourself - if you do buy online and you are not gifted in bike assembly - spend the money and get a professional to put it together. That much I can tell you.
