No problem with assembly. Very pleased with the leather and look of chairs. We've had them for about 4 months now, but last month my teenage daughter was sitting in one at the table when one side started slowly going down. She jumped out of the chair before it finished collapsing. I was stunned! The front right leg had splintered, not with a wood-cracking sound at all, just slowly split up, up near the base. These chairs are used for dinner only. They've not been miss-used, i.e., rocking in them, bouncing, etc. A week later same thing - front leg of the chair I was sitting in! They can't be repaired. I can't find a leg even close in diameter in [a home store], etc. to replace them. I removed the good front leg off of one and put it on the other. So now I have one chair with two broken front legs! [...] Chair should last longer than that!

I purchased 4 of these chairs despite the bad reviews and am pleased i did. Putting them together is a breeze if you know how to use an allen wrench.Just make sure you get all the screws started before you tighten them up. They seem pretty sturdy and the leather has a nice feel to the touch. My only complaint would be the height of the chairs. They seem about 4 inches higher than most dining chairs.Also, if they wobble a bit try putting felt pads under all the legs and the chairs will level out once you sit on them a bit.

Don't hesitate to go for it and purchase these chairs. My husband and I were pleasantly suprised to find that they are of good quality, sturdy, and easily put together without a fuss. I am very picky and was almost detoured from my purchase but I could not be more pleased. We saved a ton of money and they look high end!

Please read all reviews before purchasing! After the 2nd use, my 13 year old son (100 lbs) was sitting (not tipping back, etc) in the chair and the left front leg BROKE in half. You'll notice that I'm not the first person this has happened to. The manufacturer won't help (I asked for a replacement leg, but no luck) and it's beyond Target's return policy, so I'm stuck with 3 dining room chairs. Now I either have to purchase another, or replace all of the chairs. This should not happen - beware.

These are very nice looking, comfortable chairs! I bought 6 as these were a great match to my dining room table (and I needed to replace the "worn" chairs). I had been looking for black Parsons chairs for a very long time. Chairs that I found in stores for under $250 each were uncomfortable (hard cushion), cheap looking or brown (black was difficult to find). I was worried about getting these over the internet, however, I took the chance because of the many positive reviews. Glad I did! These do not look like inexpensive chairs -- and do not feel like them either. The leather is nice, the cushion is comfortable. ABOUT ASSEMBLY: It took about an hour to put together a chair manually (my first few) --- but if you use a cordless screw driver with an allen wrench, it will take about 20 minutes per chair. Note: it comes shipped with two legs already attached to the back of the chair, so you are assembling the cushion and 2 legs.
Finally - there was no foul smell to my chairs, like the other reviewer mentioned.

Definitely buy these if you need black leather parsons chairs -- they are very good quality!

Follow up: The 6th chair ended up having uneven legs. I called Target and they offered to send me a replacement chair and will also arrange for the free pick-up of my bad chair AFTER the replacement arrives. The customer service person was extremely helpful! I'm still a satisfied consumer!

These are gorgeous chairs. You can't tell that they cost a fraction of what you would pay at a furniture store. We needed more chairs for guests and they go nicely with our C&B dining table. They are a little taller (seat height) than the other chairs we have. The only thing I didn't love was the smell that took a few weeks to wear off.

We love these chairs in our kitchen eat-in area. We were aiming for a "cafe" look. They look and feel great. We wanted black, comfort, smooth and high quality and we're very satisfied!

The legs are all different sizes and when assembled the chairs wobble and probably would not hold up very long. It is unfortunate because the leather seat tops are made really nice. I was very disappointed and returned them to the store.

I was very pleased with how well they came packaged. They arrived sixs days after I ordered them.(They were slightly delayed,perhaps weather conditions). The look of this chairs are very sleek and contemporary. I own a glass table with smoke glass and didn't have the money to replace the table. But with these new chairs, it can extend the life, and give it a new look. They were also the right height, perhaps better than what I had before.
Assembly couldn't be easier, seat and two legs. Do use an electric screwdriver and the allen wrench enclosed.

However, I did encounter a few problems, I would like to share them, if it would help someone else.

1.When you look at the leg pieces you will find two holes on both sides, make sure that the metal side is facing the outside of the seat. With proper placement, you'll have ample room to replace the dust cover on the bottom of each chairs.
2.Only one chair had uneven legs, and I just simply switched them, and the problem was gone.
3.When removing one of the seat coverings, tape was glued to it. I thought I would have to return it,instead I used Natural Works dilutable cleaner, and gently rubbed it off, after I used a soft cloth to polish. I did gamble it, but I'm glad I did.

If you are looking for all black leather chairs, don't hesitate to order them, because they are nice looking chairs. Free shipping and sale prices were also nice.
