Yay Play Yard! June 7, 2007 Reviewer:  Mama Mia (CA)  See all my reviews >

This play yard is awesome. I purchased two of them and put them together (as was recommended by others). For sure, one play yard would probably be too small.

Here is the square footage you get with the extensions (got this info off of another website):

play zone with 0 extensions=13 sq ft
play zone with 1 extension=18 sq ft
play zone with 2 extensions=29 sq ft
play zone with 3 extensions=37 sq ft
play zone with 4 extensions (or 2 play yards)=53 sq ft

It is sturdier and nicer than any other play yard I found at the time. Me, my husband, and my daughter can play in it together without feeling cramped. I have a Fisher Price Learning Home (which is on the large side) in there along with several canvas toy bins filled with toys and it still feels roomy. Really, if you're looking for a decently priced play yard, you really can't go wrong with this one. The nicest part of this yard is that I can go to the bathroom without fear that I will come back to find my daughter playing with an electric cord :).

I also like the-
*vibrant colors
*ability to adjust it to make a larger/smaller space when you have extensions
*play center
*lockable doors (so you don't have to step over it like with most other yards)
*super easy and quick assembly

Destiny's Delight January 7, 2008 Reviewer:  Destiny's Mom "Andrea A" (Springfield, MA)  See all my reviews >

We purchased this for our 10mth old, 29lb daughter less 2 wks ago. We were looking for something safe, yet durable.

Hit the Jackpot!!!

Great for entertainment and excercise. My daughter took her 1st steps after only 9 days of use.

We also purchased an extension in which we haven't had to use yet. Has enough room for at least 2 people and my 7yr old loves to join her inside.(So do Mom and Dad.)

We did a lot of research on play-yards before purchasing this one. It's a little more expensive than most, but well worth the money.

Apples to apples its the "best buy".

Some of the benefits we found include:
Closed in area that allows for secure naps and safe play.
Bright colors and mirror help with sight development.
Music helps entertain and stimulate sound.
Sturdy construction helps allow child to pull up on, helping to strengthen legs and arms.
Lock allows peace of mind that child is secured in playzone.

**As with any toy, we as parents recommend not leaving child unsupervised while using playzone.

We highly recommend the Playzone!!!

Happy we bought it May 9, 2007 Reviewer:  Mommy of 2 (MA, USA)  See all my reviews >

Original Review - We've only had the playzone for a couple weeks, but we really like it. For what it is (a childsafe play area with toys), we felt it was well worth the price (on sale, free shipping). We had considered getting the north gates superyard, but it was not nearly as nice for $65 compared to the $90 we paid for this. So far, she enjoys playing in it and that's worth so much now that she's getting to be mobile and can get into trouble quickly. The toys are fairly simple, but I've found her playing with and enjoying them. I agree with others that the keyboard is way too loud (the reason I deducted one star) and am considering removing the batteries. It's incredibly easy to assemble and the walls seem sturdy enough to me. I love the colors, especially on the blue step 2 foam play mats. I like it and am glad I got it. My only concern is whether it'll continue to work well for us as she ages or if she will learn to open it as other kids aparently have. But for now, it's great.

Update at 10 Months - our baby has not learned to move it or escape, but she is now having a fit everytime we try to put her in it. Apparently the novelty wore off. We think it may be too small now that she's really mobile and are considering expanding it.

Great until they can climb! October 29, 2008 Reviewer:  Excited Mommy "Sammie D" (Hanover Park, IL)  See all my reviews >

I bought this set about a year ago. My son loves it! Having the gate on it is great too cuz I have a bad back, and I don't have to bend and reach to pick him up out of it, I can just open the door.
And it works fabulously for the little ones who are learning how to cruise, they can pick themselves up from the rails and walk around the walls to practice.
You can use it in or outdoors too, another plus.
However, at about a year old, he figured out how to pull one corner up and pull it apart so he could get out.
Then, just yesterday, he figured out how to climb out of it without pulling it apart. There's little step-type things on the corner pieces, as you can see from the picture, and he stepped up on one, swung one leg over and he was free. So, if you do get this, after about a year, you really have to keep an eye on the kid, cuz they will figure out how to get out! Other than that, I love it!

dangerous to little arms July 16, 2007 Reviewer:  Concerned Mom "Melissa C" (Granada Hills, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

My daughter is 8 months old and she likes to reach outside of the yard through the spaces in between the bars. Her arms always get caught in the spaces and I had to pull and slide her arms up and down the tiny spaces just to get them out. It's really dangerous. I think they should make the spaces a little bit bigger and the bars a little bit skinnier also so small hands can better hold them especially when babies are trying to stand up.

A must for twins! October 15, 2008 Reviewer:  Raising Cain (NJ)  See all my reviews >

This play center has been a life saver! I bought two sets. It gives my twin boys the opportunity to explore their independence without me having to chase them around the house. Yes there are some down sides like them moving the walls a little, I have it against one wall and I propped their toy box on the outside of the other side and it took care of them moving it. And their little feet got caught in the slats for about 2 weeks but now they are fine. The pros out weigh the cons by miles. The one thing that I didn't know which I wish I did before buying is that if you are a AAA member you can receive a 10% discount if purchased through their site. If you have twins and need some space for them this is the thing to get.

Fun - good alternative to a plain playpen August 21, 2007 Reviewer:  J. Swedlow Real Name (Bethany, OK)  See all my reviews >

My 11 month old likes to play with the door, the phone, the buttons... it's a good alternative to just a playpen since the toys are built in, and I dont think she feels so "trapped" as in a playpen. I even get in the middle and sit with her sometimes.

I do wish there was a volume setting on it though, because my daughter sure likes hitting those buttons over and over!

This is fantastic March 17, 2007 Reviewer:  A. Wong "Alexis" Real Name (Indiana, USA)  See all my reviews >

I had been researching for a good play pen for about a month & the best one always seemed to be this one. It's expensive, but I finally decided to order this last week. My daughter LOVES this. As soon as I took the activity wall out of the box, my daughter came crawling & wouldn't keep her hands off the wall! She was kissing herself in the mirror & all. She was in a Graco fold up play pen before & she seemed so closed in everytime I looked at her. I was going to get a Summer brand play fence, but I already knew they double advertised it as a dog pen! That didn't sit well with me. My mom did come home with it one day & my daughter kept crying when she was in it. She kept looking over the top of it & looked pitiful. This Playzone on the other hand, she crawls around everywhere in it & enjoys herself! I took the recommendation of others & ordered 2 sets as well. Which is necessary, as long as you don't mind losing some of your living room space! It's an alright compact size, if you can only have one set, but 2 are definitely better if you want baby to be able to walk/crawl around in a bigger area! I always either have it in a rectangle or square shape. Which my daughter finds it amusing when she sees me changing the shape! I give this 5 stars. :)

Great little playpen. April 22, 2008 Reviewer:  atlanta mom See all my reviews >

I'm only giving this four stars because the quality of manufacture is not quite up to par with say a Little Tikes item. There were some spaces in between the bars where we had to sand the plastic seam down a bit because it wasn't fully shaved off at the plant. Also, there were some shaved off plastic bits at the seams that we had to pull off so our baby wouldn't eat and choke on them. It's made in Korea. Otherwise it has worked well for us. We got the Superyard XT and our baby hated it. It seemed like more of a dog pen to us. The appaently same pen looks to be marketed as a dog pen BTW. This one is fairly small but not tiny, but I'm not sure a two year old would be happy in it. The baby likes the play panel, although as other reviews have stated it is very loud. A piece of duct tape over the speaker on the outside can correct that if need be. It doesn't bother us. I like the rounded corners. We haven't had any issues. The gate opens just fine. It has rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding on the floor, maybe this is a new thing. We have it on carpet and it works just great. This is a good alternative to the old style playpen, which has a weight limit. We also open this up to block off a fireplace and space between the couch and chair so our baby can have free run in the living room while we're supervising. I love it.

We love this - ordered another November 29, 2008 Reviewer:  V. Greene Real Name (Burbank, CA)  See all my reviews >

We just ordered a second one for my sister. My 9 month old infant son loves playing with the toys on the panel and it gives him a decent amount of room to crawl. He is happy. He is pulling himself up now and walking around the play zone by holding onto the top. It is sturdy to support his weight as he holds on. We have no problems and it is easy to take apart to bring on family outings. It is alot more attractive than those gray plastic play yards found in the stores. I highly suggest this product.
