Lodge 5 qt. Dutch oven November 26, 2007 Reviewer:  Anne Curran (Sunny South)  See all my reviews >

I have had this item for over 20 years- great to frying chicken, nice and deep- great for stews and roasting too. You can turn the lid upside down (either on the pot or on the oven rack) and use it to bake a round loaf of bread or biscuits, rolls, whatever, - helps to keep them hot while you are eating.
It's great if you like to camp, I put the lid, upside down in the coals or fire and can cook almost anything, chops, hot dogs, chicken or veggies. Very usable- limited only by your imagination.

Best thing EVER!!! July 6, 2009 Reviewer:  Wilderness Dude "Steve P" (Blacksburg, VA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought this as a birthday gift for my dad. Best thing I ever bought for him...He LOVES it! Spring, summer, fall and winter; doesn't matter as long as it's not too windy, he cooks with this over the fire pit. Chili beans, roast, even bacon and eggs! And once you've re-seasoned it enough times, it becomes second nature and cleaning is a snap.

Great Cookwear June 28, 2009 Reviewer:  Georgia Girl "Lisa" (KS, USA)  See all my reviews >

I purchase this item for my mom, and she loves it. She uses it on a weekly basics. Her friends are always asking where she got it from. It is also a great price. If taken care of properly this item will last a long time. I perfered cast iron cookwear over any of the newer product. Tried and true.

Great but..... June 18, 2009 Reviewer:  NYC cook "NYCC" (NYC)  See all my reviews >

Pros---CHEAP! And cast iron is a great cooking medium.
CONS--HEAVY! Heavier than Le Creuset. "Pebbly" surface hard to clean. And this is my ignorance--DON"T use anything acidic in this (or any other) cast iron) pot. It corrodes it, and is impossible to clean out.
