These Logitech X240's are great for the price. My brother bought them last year and we have them hooked up to our 32" HDTV for the essence of a mini surround sound system. The subwoofer really hits with DVDs and Xbox 360 games. We love plugging them into on of the iPods when friends come over for parties/cards or just hanging out. I would recommend this item to others.

These are pretty good speakers for the price. The sub woofer really delivers but I think that depends on the type of sound card your pc has too. A good sound card really makes a difference. Mine is HD so the quality is superb. Cranked up, theses speakers vibrate the desk and are really clear. No hiss either.

I thought these speakers were decent, not great, but decent...the sub hit with fairly nice bass, not super muddy, if you have it set correctly...the mids aren't real prevelent but for 50 bucks these are a good buy. If clarity is your thing i would recommend the bose for 100...however if all you want is something to play background music while you work these are fantastic.( the bass can get super loud if that's your thing).

sounds great when playing music but theres this annoying humming sound that come out of speakers... not great for the price..

This speaker set looked good and seemed to sound decent in the store. Also, it seemed like the cradle would interface to a iPod (asked the clerk).
the biggest problem is sound qulity - the speakers sound worse than our 20yr old panasonic boom box when connected to the same computer sound port.
Also, the prev reviews regarding the 'humm' when there is not sound are true. It can be clearly heard. This does not come from the computer.
So, dissapointed, will have to return the speakers and go for a more expensive option - probably a different brand.

I bought these for $40. They sound great!! Strong bass, fairly crisp highs, and nice clear voice. Pretty easy to install and they don't take up much desk space (put the woofer on the floor). I've had good luck with Logitech reliability before so if these last like they should then I'll be very happy.

Being a muscian of some 30+ years, I like my music crisp and clear and fairly loud. Keep in mind these are computer speakers and are not meant to fill a house with sound. Having said that, these are truely worth the money and if you want a good reliable product buy these. I have been using products from Logitech for years now (keyboard/mouse set, and the X140's) I have no complaints! Try them, you won't be sorry.

these are not worth the money at all. when you turn the volume not even up to its full potential they make a static sound which is really annoying if you're into good sound. if you're gonna spend your money spend it on something worth your while. the only thing good about this speaker set is the subwoofer.

I just picked up these speakers and they sound GREAT! At the same time I bought some Phillips speakers to compare them, the Phillips cost more, had more power, where bigger, but there was a huge difference in the sound quality. At Target they had these and the X140s on display, these where noticeably better than the X140s as well. I think what makes the difference is that the X240s come with a subwoofer, so you can clearly hear the difference between the lows and highs, and you can adjust the subwoofer level. I've been using them for music and games and I'm VERY satisfied with the sound quality.
