People on this Target site are confused, this 610 is $, the 620 is $, and about this not handling simple configuration like 2 dvd's, a vcr and a tv, that is just rediculous. All Harmony remotes, used the exact same programming software and the only difference between the 20 or so different model numbers is the hard button layout.
So they all can do the same amount of control, you will just need to program the missing buttons into the lcd screen.
And you will need to figure out how to properly set up the activities. That is what most people don't understand with Harmony Logitech remotes. They are activity based, so it has to do all the work for you, you just push one button, say watch a movie, and it then changes your tv to correct input, turns on your audio palyer puts it into correct mode, turns on your dvd player and even can start the play for you, all with a single button press.
The key is being patient enough to correctly set it up the first time with the software. it is confusing, i admit that. But keep trying and eventually you will get hem perfect and never want to go back to the old way. Trust me.
Also this 610 or 620 have a great button layout, as does the 676, which is almost impossible to find anymore.
I am not crazy about the newer color lcd models which put the hard buttons too close together and make using the remote actually harder than easier, like the 880 etc..
Save money and get the older harmony remotes.
Enjoy!

NOTE: This is a Logtech Harmony 610, not a 620

I just received mine. I have not even unpacked it yet, so no idea how it works, but it is certainly not a Harmony 620 as described. It is in fact a Logitech Harmony 610. It looks much the same apart from color differences, BUT, the big difference is that it can only control 5 devices, not the 15 that the 620 can. Not a problem if you have less than five devices, but if you do, BUYER BEWARE.

I'm not sure where others are coming from with their reviews - I picked this item up at my local Target store for a great price.
I believe the confusion may come from not understanding how to set up the remote. This is not like other universal remotes - you don't enter in codes or guess at codes. You simply connect the remote to your computer via USB and run the setup program. The program asks you for the model numbers of your various components and does the rest of the work from there. I happen to be using a Mac and it worked marvellously.
I was a little anxious because of how different and EASY the setup was, but when I took the remote into my living room, everything worked perfectly! The 'device' button is available to offer you all the other options that are not available via the buttons. It is quite simply the best remote I've ever used. Kudos to Logitech to making Universal Remotes smart!

I loved the idea of this remote. It was easy to program, but operating it was a little too complicated - especially for my kids.
A big plus was that this is one of the very few devices which I have found that operates my Toshiba DVR/VCR combo.
Ultimately, it was too much of a pain to switch from "watch TV" to "Watch a movie" by having to turn off everything & start over or operate a single device. Also, when in the "watch a movie" mode, I couldn't control the volume on the TV - weird.

I replaced a Harmony 685 with this one, thinking it would function like the 685. Unfortunately, I found our that the 610 does not allow you to program your favorite TV channels on to the buttons along the LCD screen. That was a disappointment, but otherwise it is functioning great.

I just bought this remote. That`s why I`m only giving it FOUR STARS. But i`m sure i will be upgrading it to a FIVE STAR soon.
And as for, MEDIA FREAK`s review-(worst remote ever).I would say he would have a hard time working,The old TV`s with the Rotary Tuner.

For the first time ever, one remote controls all my entertainment devices. Setup is simple, customization options are plentiful and most importantly - it works! At the Target sale price, it's a bargain...

This device is worth every penny. It's well designed with excellent software and functionality. It's well built and it works correctly even for a complex system (DirecTV DVR, Sony Flat Panel, Sony Blue Ray, Onkyo Audio Receiver) the first time. Follow the instructions and you'll find that it works even better then expected. The time and frustration it saves is invaluable...

yes there is a problem, virginia.
I was on the phone with level 3 for 2 + hours. they couldn't fix the problem with switching inputs to the sony bravia kdl46-s4100. they ended up with a "rube goldberg" fix by telling the remote that the sony had seperate butteon for input selection. and not a sinle button (the correct way).
this now linits the way the remote works
