This is a beautiful necklace, the pearl can be worn two ways, either with the curved side facing out or with the flat, more shiny "mother of pearl" appearing side facing out. I get compliments either way I wear it. However, the chain it is on is extremely thin and weak and the pearl is secured in such a way that it doesn't slide along the chain (meaning, you can't take it off and put it on a sturdier chain). Within 2 weeks, the chain broke, causing me to take it to a jeweler to have it repaired. Unfortunately, this repair cost as much as the original piece! 4 stars for the beautiful stone, would have been 5 if the chain weren't so lame!

First, wimpy chain is right. 14K is also preferrable. With natural stones, buying sight-unseen is difficult. I received one that escaped Target's quality control. My pearl just had too many faults. I returned it to the local store with no problem. I actually would prefer if the pearl were not drilled, it deflect's from the pearl, and one cannot of course, remove it from the wimpy chain. A lobster claw closure would also help. I will look around and see if I can find one that doesn't look as if someone stomped on it, as it does have potential, esp. at this price point!

I love pearls and debated on buying this necklace for a long time. I finally did but I returned it without ever wearing it. The quality of the pearl and chain are very low - even at the sale price I don't think it is worth it.

I was disappointed with the one I received....it was a dull off-beige color - not at all "luminous" as it appears in the on-line picture. Chain is very very thin and fragile...but for the price...it is about what you could realistically expect.

When I bought this necklace I was really excited, the pearl was so beautiful and I could not wait to put it on. Then came the chain. I did not realize how short it would be. I was planning for it to fall right between my neck and chest, however it falls very close to my neck, so it is a little uncomfortable for me. And, because the chain is attached to the pearl, I cannot easily change it out. This may not be a problem for all people, but for me, at 5'10" with a large frame, this necklace was too small. Easy return to a local target though at least.
