This is Next Gen Gameplay!!! August 9, 2009 Reviewer:  Madden King "Joshua B" (Nashville,TN,USA)  See all my reviews >

This game may not have all the fancy presentation that the PS3/XBOX 360 has,but when it comes to overall gameplay its the best experience your going to have and it is worth every penny. There's no glitching like there is on next-gen like players teleporting places where they should not be and also it has more features than next-gen so pick this version up for your ps2 cause it is the best bang for your buck.

Get back to the game play September 18, 2009 Reviewer:  dbo See all my reviews >

This is the first one I have got since 2005 so I don't know when, if ever, the game changed so much. This review is based off of playing only 6 games because that was enough for me.
Personally, I think there is too much going on on-screen besides the game itself. The score takes up more room on the top cutting off part of my downfield view, if you hit O then this box pops up on the right hand side that you can't get rid of, and you have the hit stick button display on the bottom left. I get lost trying to figure out what is going on and then the play starts. On offense, if you hit the O button and X then it locks onto a player and I haven’t been able to figure out how to hike the ball resulting in numerous penalties.. On defense, the change player and speed burst button has been switched around and can't be edited at all. I think we all know how fun it is to learn new controls after more than a decade of Madden being the same.
Besides updated rosters, (real reason why I bought this) I like the improved graphics and realism to the game. However I think EA or Madden got lost in all the intangibles and lost focus on game itself. Overall, I have never been so confused trying to play such a simple sports game and win or lose it’s just not fun for me.
