Enjoying my seat

I had read a reviewer somewhere who complained about the assembly process, and about the hardness of the wheels leaving tracks in her wood floors. So I was initially afraid to purchase this chair.
Turns out that the chair is great, the wheels run smoothly on my wood floors with no scuff marks or scratches, and the assembly wasn't terribly time-consuming or difficult at all.
My only concern about the chair is that the base and the top have nothing fastening them in place, so that if the chair tipped over, the top piece seems like would come free. However, since I have no intention of tipping the chair over, that should be fine.
So far (eight days later) I really like it, and I would recommend it to anyone who asked me.

I love this office chair. I find it to be very comfortable and sturdy.
As far as the assembly of ANY Target furniture goes -- You have to take your time and really go over the instructions carefully. I have never found any of the higher end furniture from Target to be poor quality. This was the 9th piece of furniture I have had to put together from Target and I have to say that the Madison collection (I have the desk too) is VERY good quality.
BE CAREFUL when putting the seat onto the back. There are 2 long screws and 2 short screws. The long screws go into the corners of the seat.

I bought this chair to match my new office furniture from [an upscale retailer]. It arrived quicker than estimated and looks perfect in my office. I highly recommend it! One helpful hint-when assembling leave screws as loose as possible (on seat bottom and back) before adding the arms...we did not do that and the arm screw holes did not match up at all. Once we loosened them we were able to attach both arms and tighten all of the screws (on the arms and seat back/bottom) for a perfect fit!

You can fix the "tilt"

Great chair, although when I first assembled it, it tilted forwarded and I was unhappy with the chair. Then I read the on line reviews, and someone mentioned that you should have the seat bracket so that the tilt knob is directly under you in the front, not in the back. The directions I got were wrong. So, just reattach the seat bracket to the tilt knob is in the front and the height adjustment is in the back to the right. Then, the tilt is perfect and the chair is awesome.

I was weary of buying this chair as all of the others ones I had looked at were three times as much as this one, but it's great! Thanks for the tip on the tilting of the chair, it was a big help. The chair is sturdy, very heavy, and very well made! A great purchase!

Arm split and one caster bent at approximately a year old with minimal use by an average size adult. Very disappointed in this item.

i got a great deal on the chair, [price] plus 15% off plus free shipping. it's substantial piece of furniture that looks like no expense was spared, from the ball casters with metal hoods to hardwood construction to sculpted shape. it has a traditional look with modern comforts, like height and tilt adjustment. one problem: one of the hole drilled into seat to attach adjustable-heght base was too large to fit screws provided. right now, i'm sitting screws. i'm hoping to either get a replacement screw from Target or i might have to go buy one. i can't complain too much, considering the deal i got on the chair.

I just finished putting these chairs together, I ordered 2 as they were on sale at the time for [price]! I did read some negative reviews, but figured that I'd give it a try, since basically I paid less for two, than I would have paid full price for one (with the 15% off any furniture order over $125) and free shipping! I am using a thin chair pad and find these chairs very comfortable. I originally purchased the Madison Trestle desk and was very pleased! Follow the pictures of the directions, not the words... it tells you to place the adjustment lever under the "left arm as shown" but as shown is actually the RIGHT arm! If you follow the pictures, you should have no problems! Enjoy!

I got this chair as a gift. Easily one of the worst computer chairs I have ever owned. Very difficult to assemble. The predrilled holes did not accomodate the hardware that came with the chair so we ended up drilling our own holes. The chair is unsteady now that it is assembled and while it looks nice it does not feel secure when you sit on it. It definately will not stand up to the test of time. I guess you get what you pay for. Next time I will go to a furniture store to purchase a chair. This one is a huge disappointment. If I could have given it zero stars I would have rated it a big, fat zero.

I got the chair to go with the trustle desk. It does look nice with the desk and is a nice, sturdy piece. However, it just isn't very comfortable to sit in for longer periods of time. I use the desk and chair for scrapbooking and sometimes sit for an hour or more. I have had it over a year and have not had any other problems with it. Its more for "looks" than for comfort!
