***** BUY NEW **** - don't buy used!

I am nursing my 2nd and have both PIS (backpack & shoulder). Buying your own pump is a must. Consider it on your list of must haves right after a carseat and crib! Ask for giftcards so you can buy your own if you don't want to register for one. (also get the vehicle power adapter). You never know how long one has been used and new attachments cannot protect you from infiltration of the pump that may have happened under the previous owner. You will still be saving $ compared to formula. If you need help buying one - ask the hospital for places that help you with the funds to purchase on or check with your insurance. Consider getting a prescription from your Dr. if necessary/required by your insurance. This is the pump of choice if you are returning to work. Do not pump unless you have established your supply or if your baby has a MEDICAL condition where they cannot latch. Seek help from your local [..] to get correct information and support (search for them on the web). This is vital to a sucessful BF experience. That organization is known worldwide as the [..] experts. A pump will help with supply but doesn't stimulate like your baby would. Educate yourself on BF as much as you can and remember that many people who give BF advice (nurses, LCs, etc) may have little experience & aren't required to have BFd themselves. Low supply and other situations are really rare occurrances despite what you may have been told. So go to a local [..] to get the correct info. That is your best chance for success. good luck and congrats for trying to give your baby the best start in life possible. And most importantly - don't be embarrassed to carry around a pump - be proud that you are giving your child the best start you can.

I bought this pump after the First one did not work. My daughter is now 7 1/2 months and I am able to pump 10 ounces every 4 hours, the bag is great. Best investment I have made. Also just a little secret I learned for using the dual pump system. Take a smaller tube top and cut holes where your nipples are and then you can attach the bottles and be hands free, great when being a new mom barely allows youto eat yourself..

I have had a great deal of experience with various breastpumps both personnally and professionally. They can be expensive at the main retail stores. Shop around on line. I have used a wonderful lady at addalittlelove online that is about the cheapest price and is a lactation consultant so she is great with questions, which you will have. Most retail stores charge full price and dont answer questions.

This is a wonderful pump! I have been using it for 9 months now and have never had a need to buy formula for my baby and I am a full time teacher, so I have to pump every day and have only short periods of time in which to do so. I have a friend that also has a baby and she told me that she spends close to[.......]a month on formula alone! Based on that, even with getting an expensive pump, I have saved quite a bit of money. Getting a great pump can save money in the long run and will allow you to continue to do what is best for your baby, which is breastfeed, for as long as possible.

I bought this pump because I plan on going back to work, and everything I read said this was the only pump to get if work was an issue. While it is quite expensive, it is so easy to use, and quite fast. I haven't been using it on a regular basis yet, but I got mastitis and it was necessary to use at that point. I had no problems at all. I can tell that I will easily be able to pump anywhere! Definitely don't waste your money on any other pump. Medela is the best.

I cannot say enough about this pump!! I bought it because it was recommended to me by my hospital's Lactation Consultant and it is worth every penny. I've been using this pump for 4 months now, 5-6 times a day, and have had absolutely NO problems with it. If you plan on breastfeeding or pumping, this is definitely the pump to go with. After only 2 or 3 months you will have saved as much money as this pump costs from NOT having to buy formula.
I've read complaints from other women about the bag not having enough pocket space, but I find that it has plenty of space for credit cards, cash, lipstick, pocket mirror, etc. I really just can't say enough about this pump!! It does its job perfectly!

Overall, I would buy this pump again. I was amazed how quickly the milk was extracted. The only down fall is that you have to clean every itty, bitty piece everytime you use it. Which was difficult, and time consuming for me because we don't have a dishwasher. Besides that and the possibilty of milk going back up in to the tubes (which happens w/ almost every pump), this made it possible for us to have the grandpaents watch her.

Excellent at expressing milk quickly. This also helped increase my milk production. I would recommend buying extra parts, though, since it can be difficult to find time to wash the parts in soapy water between uses at work.

I love my Pump In Style breast pump. When I registered I didn't know how much of a differnece there was between Medelas and other pumps. Well, after getting frustrated with only getting about 4oz. a pump with my playtex pump, I decided to fork up the money buy a medela. It is the best baby item investment I have made thus far! I get at least 8oz per pumping and I pump twice a day at work. My son is 8 months old and i am still using it and plan to use it when I have my next child.

I am so happy that I decided to purchase this pump. I was debating between this one and the Avent breastpump. My main concern is that I will be returning to work and really wanted to get the best pump possible. I am so happy I made the choice to purchase the Pump in Style. I literally pumped 8oz in six minutes!
In addition, the pump was very easy to assemble. The bag is discreet and will work well when I return to work. I would recommend this pump without any hesistation!
