I completely agree with the other reviewer. I too didn't realize I had "big nipples". Wasn't getting enough milk. Switch sizes and I have more than doubled my milk supply. (It was very low to begin with though.)

I bought these because the standard ones were too small and they were causing my nipples to get sore. I enjoy pumpin my sons milk again.

My son had nipple confusion after being born premature and being bottle fed in the nursery, so after a month of trying to nurse, I now exclusively feed him expressed milk. I had no idea that there were "sizes" of sheilds until I was researching low milk supply and ran across these on the medela web site. They have saved my milk supply. Before, I was only able to pump about 3 oz. every 3 hours, and my baby was taking 4 oz. so I was having to supplement with formula. Now I'm able to pump 4+ oz. every 3 hours and he rarely gets supplemented. It saves us money on formula and my baby gets the best nutrition I can offer. Pumping with these is much more comfortable and productive. Oh, and these fit with my regular adapters that came with the pump. They may fit better with the PersonalFit adapters, but the original adapters work fine for me.

Don't suffer with painful pumping like I did. I didn't realize what was causing me to be sore after pumping until I saw a lactation consultant about it. apparently I was using the wrong size shields. After having painful latching problems with my son, I wasn't about to go through painful pumping too. I also ordered an extra set so I wouldn't have to wash the one set every time I had to pump.

I didn't know the shields came in different sizes. My nipples were very sore because the standard size of 24mm was too small for me. Everyone's breasts are different. I read online about bigger shields and thought I would try them. They are much more comfortable than the ones that came with the pump. These are great and fit the connectors that already come with the Medela pump in style. You can also put these in the steam bags unlike some others. Love these.

Pumping would not have been possible if not for these shields. I wish they came with the pump because the ones included would never have cut it.

Medela makes such great products for nursing moms! As a first time mom, I am so grateful to my friends for encouraging me to get this pump. I wish someone had told me earlier on that the breast sheilds come in different sizes! I was using the standard medium ones for the first month and pumping was painful and I was dripping milk everywhere! I read that there were different size sheilds and found these on target's website! I bought the 27mm and the 30mm b/c i wasn't sure which to get. I use them both w/ease and what a difference w/pumping! Much more comfortable and I feel I became a better nurser b/c of it. I prefer the 27mm, but definitely wish I knew from the start to get the different size sheilds.
