I like the style of the desk and it was easy to put together. I had to have two desks sent to me because the UPS driver left it on the doorstep of my apartment building (when I was home!!) and someone stole it. I wish Target would require UPS to get a signature for items over [..]. Also, when I got the desk together I noticed a sizeable chip out of one of the corners on the main surface. I didn't feel like trying for a third desk so I kept it. I guess you get what you pay for!

I bought this desk in 2000 and it is still as sturdy as ever (2009)! Have upgraded from a very heavy PC Monitor that did not warp it to a flat screen that leaves me a lot of desk space. The hardware is sound, the drawer and keybard slide are in perfect condition and the desk is still sturdy. In fact I just bought a very similar desk set from Target.com for my son's room.

Very well built, solid desk. Love the color, sorry I can't get more of this style in stores anymore. Came with a large chip in the top panel, but I'm sure I'll do worse than that through the years with normal wear and tear. I like it.

It was easy to assemble & the hardware was not defective. The desk is sturdy and is a space-saving item, since it is only 20 inches deep (now that flat-screen monitors are standard with computers, computer desks do not need to be as deep as they used to be, imo.) There is one flaw with this desk -- the sliding shelf has a half-inch-high lip. To compensate for this you may need either to use a very thick mousepad or to place something under the mousepad (I use a small stack of printer paper), or to just accept the discomfort from having the protruding wood pressing against your wrist.

I ordered, THEN read review's and was kind of dreading what I would recieve. I am absolutey satisfied with this purchase. Was a few minor scratch's on top of desk, but nothing a "wood crayon" wouldnt fix, after all this is not a 400.00 item.
The drawer is not tiny like some reviews stated. I also have another piece in the collection & am very happy with both.
I am going to coat it with polyuathane along with the other piece as will protect the finish for a very long time.
As far as shipping time?? Superman couldn't have gotten it here sooner.

I bought this desk thinking it was 'good enough' for a kid's room. My expectations of a [price] desk weren't high. But the hardware was so ridiculously cheap that almost every screw broke in half with the slightest turn. I was so disappointed and honestly could not believe hardware this junky would be supplied. I am happy to say, I returned it to Target for a full refund without a problem.

This is garbage. Do not waste your money on it. A couple of lag screws broke. When trying to put the top on.Noticed it was warped and unable to finish construction. Good Luck getting your money back. A waste of time.

I've had one of these for 4 years and it's very durable. We thought it was a temporary piece but it's done so well for us there is no need to replace it. Great simple lines, light color, neat appearance makes it almost invisible. Functions even better now that we have a new desktop computer that the computer is so much smaller that it can sit on the desktop next to the moniter. We love it. And so since we now have a laptop, we decided to add the smaller computer desk, we put the printer on the top of that desk and use the keyboard drawer for the laptop. Looks great next to each other. Free shipping internet only on the smaller computer desk, we took a chance and were thrilled. If you want big stuff that takes a lot of room then go buy something else. If you want clean lines that blend in... we actually have a pine tongue and groove wall behind the desks... so we found the perfect stuff for us.. looks great against painted drywall too.

Maybe for [price]. The assemble hardware is pure junk. The CAM bolts are cheap cast metal. Had 5 out of 8 break off in the wood (needed to be drilled out) after only a 1/4 turn of the CAM nut.

Packaging was flimsy and there were multiple dents and scratches upon delivery.

The drawer is tiny and barely holds anything. When purchasing this desk, I knew it didn't come with a place to hold the CPU for a computer, but after a while I got sick of my CPU sitting on the floor and decided to buy something better and with more storage. The box this desk comes in is extremely heavy! My husband carried it in the house by himself, but he is freakishly strong. Women purchasing this item will probably need help carrying it :-)
