I tried this on in the store today. It fit true to size. The only reason I didn't buy it was because if you have any kind of tummy "pooch" it's very noticable when you turn to the side. Also, the belt that came with it was too big for my waist, which means I would have to get a new belt or it wouldn't look right.

I ordered both the size 10 and 12 to try at home and went with the 12 because, like some reviewers said, it's snug in the hips if you've got a curvier figure. The pleating around the neck is a nice touch. I plan to wear this to work especially on days where I have something after work like a happy hour or dinner event. Would look nice with a blazer over it. The dress can be worn year round because the fabric isn't too light or heavy. I liked it so much I also bought the dark grey color. It's ideal for travel since you can pair it with a cardigan or blazer and switch out the shoes, accessories, and belts.

I'm not a fan of the belt the dress comes with and plan to use belts from my closet for this one. The belt was too big and a little cheap looking.

Dress is very complimentary to any body shape! The quality of the dress great for the price! Going back to buy the grey dress!

I love this dress! I wear it to go out and I wear it to work. It fits great. I'm a petite women so I don't notice a belly pouch as some reviewers has notice. I agree that the belt is useless. I wear the dress alone or with a wide belt, never with the belt that came with the dress. This dress may be my favorite little black dress so far, and I have quite a few.

LOVE this great, work appropriate dress! I am 5'7" and a true hourglass shape - large bust and a decent size rear and I always have trouble finding sheath style dresses that accentuate my waist. Usually I have to buy stuff that will fit my chest and it ends up making me look much larger in the tummy area. I think this dress is sexy yet classy and really fits great. I agree with others that it might not work if you carry weight in the middle since the belt will also draw attention to the area. Otherwise, GREAT buy!! I bought the last one at my local Target and it happened to be in my size so I guess it was meant to be =)

I was surprised to find out that it fit well across my bust but was slightly snug in the hip area. Not a problem, I will just get the size larger. Looks great though. Very classy and timeless. I know this will get a lot of use.

I just bought this yesterday in a size 4. It really looks like a Theory or.......label. The fit is superb -- kind of like a Doris Day style -- very classic and close to the body. But it's the kind of dress that does not allow for a few extra pounds, so it will be another reason for me to stay out of the ice cream ...! The pleating around the neckline is very well-done and the fabric is smooth and moves well, with some stretch. The lining also feels nice against the skin. The belt could be better, but what can you expect for $ on sale? I will find a black patent leather one instead. I have been looking for a classic dress like this for some time, and was willing to spend much more -- hooray! -- I don't have to! This photo here does not do it justice. Can't wait to wear it to a Christmas party with some vintage crystal earrings, pointy pumps and a beaded clutch!

If you have anything other than a flat stomach, this is not going to work on you. It's not forgiving at all. Otherwise, it would be a nice classic piece. Material is a bit thin, but it was lined and the neckline pleating was lovely. Fit true to size, a tiny bit on the snug side.

I love this dress! I got so many compliments and for only $ I'm 5'9 and bought a size 2. It fit perfectly. I agree the belt is a bit cheap looking but I used a thin red belt and wore it with red heels. I am so happy with this purchase and would buy this again!! Thank you Target :)
