My 3 year old daughter received these crayons as a Christmas gift. We took them out of the package and they didn't work. I figured it was just the batteries. It takes three button cell batteries. It cost me $9.00 for the batteries. They worked for a while but it doesn't seem as though Dora always knows her colors. My daughter put in the red crayon and Dora told her it was green!!! Two months and very little use later, the batteries are dead again and two of the crayons have broken off the sensor that connects them to the main part. I was browsing through this site and noticed the price of these crayons. I think the price plus $9.00 worth of batteries makes for a very expensive learning tool that doesn't teach or even work very well.

Unlike the other review posted, I found this product to be quite the little gem. I have 3 little girls between the ages of 3 and 7 years old and I purchased a set for each of them...they have had hours of fun with the crayons and my 5 year old takes hers everywhere. One of the sets did not work as I got home but I called the number on the back of the box and the person was very nice and offered to send me replacement batterie the same day. Out of 18 crayons, only one has broken but this has happened with all the crayons my children have used. My little girls and I would recommend this product to anyone!

This was a birthday gift for my child. At first I thought it was just the pack we bought but after reading the other comment I realized this is just a bad product with a good concept behind it. We also replaced the batteries in the hopes of it working properly. But it did not. My daughter loves Dora and while these worked for a short time she loved it. I think if they would do some fine tuning this could be a great product.
