The DSi is ok..... March 7, 2009 Reviewer:  Warlord of Thunder "Chipoltle" (North Richland Hills, Texas)  See all my reviews >

Ok. For starters, the DSi is overall a pretty good handheld that has some good ideas, but didn't do them to the best it could. (I know about this cause I know someone who has an imported one)

The nice things about the DSi:
-It has a bigger screen
-Thinner
-Has two cameras
-Has four times the RAM
-Has an Internet browser
-Has an SD card Slot
-Has a DSiware store like the Wii Store to buy and play games
-Better wireless security and parental controls
-It can play music

The bad about it:
-No GBA slot so no W-Gate features and games
-Both cameras are only .3 megapixels
-Internet browser is laggy
-Music player does not accept MP3
-Much shorter battery life
-It is region locked on DSiware and DSi exclusives

Other than that it's a pretty decent handheld. Get it if your ok with the downs.

PS: To the 1star voter, if you read my review, you'd notice I had played with the Japanese which came out last November, so don't make a fool of yourself by trying to be smart. Also, what are you? A pedophile? Asking a kid his name is kinda creepy. Yeah, I work at Target, but I could care less if people buy stuff or not, just giving a truthful review is all I do.

Pretty nice, but has some catches May 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Ghost in a Social System "Kris V" (Kissimme, FL, USA)  See all my reviews >

The new Nintendo DSi is a very well thought out idea for the new generation of DS's. It can access the internet but it is very slow and does not yet support flash on it, and must also have a wi-fi access point. Play music off your DSi, but must first get an SD or SDHC card and then transfer the music into the DSi's memory for you cannot play it off the card it's self, and it must also be in an ACC audio file format. It has two cameras, and what many people say is that both are 0.3 megapixels but are wrong, the camera on the cover is 3.0 and the one on the inside is 0.3, so i would suggest not taking any pics with the camera located inside the DSi when you open it up. It's 12% thiner, but is because of the removal of the GBA slot, which many gamers like myself would have preferred the GBA slot then the 12% enlargement. Overall, if you own the original, bulky DS, I would consider the major upgrade in the system. If you own the Nintendo DS Lite, I would research the Nintendo DSi a bit more, in my opinion, I think Lite owners should stay with the lite, your not missing much on the DSi. Overall, 4/5.

Its pretty cool March 4, 2009 Reviewer:  iisbarrett "B Hudson" (Huntsville, AL, USA)  See all my reviews >

The new nintendo DSi is a really cool idea with the cameras, but if you still play game boy advance or color games, you can not play it on the DSi because of the cameras, i just wanted people to know before they bought this and got disappointed with that, other than not being able to play older gameboy games, this is going to be an amazing gameboy!

Great item for a low price! April 16, 2009 Reviewer:  Mademoiselle (CA)  See all my reviews >

DSi is AWESOME!!!!! I spend most of the time playing around with the camera and Internet. I have the original DS. So comparing the old DS to the DSi, the quality is so much better! The screen is bigger and brighter. Very light weight. I carry it with me everywhere. I'm a second grade teacher, so during lunch I'll pull it out and play for a while :)

like a mini wii! amazing. July 15, 2009 Reviewer:  Sara (wisconsin)  See all my reviews >

after deciding that my ds lite i had for three years had seen better days, i upgraded to the dsi (after muuuuuch saving up XD) ive had mine for about two and a half months now and i love it.
well start with the obvious differences.
the dsi is slimmer, more fancypants looking ds. the micrphone, power button, and volume button are moved to different places and there is two cameras, an SD card slot, and no GBA game slot, which is pretty much the only bummer.
it doesnt have that shineeey look like the ds lite, but i like this look better. i doesnt really scratch and it just looks nicer.
It plays games the same as the ds and ds lite, but with a bigger screen and, to me, a more sensitave touch screen.
when you turn it on, the menu is alot like the wii, with the different channels and stuff. at first i was confused as to why there were so many empty boxes, but then i realized that there is a dsi shop much like the wii one. at the moment there are few games, but fun ones that you can download onto your dsi, and thankfully you start off with 1000 free points. the game id really recommend to buy with your points is paper airplanes. cheap and really fun :-)
there is a camera feature, with two cameras and many options for messing with your pictures. If you dont have a SD card, you can store around 400 pictures. i have a 1GB SD card and it stores some 3000 pictures. the quality is not of a mega great camera, but it is good enough.
there is a voice record feature, where you can record and warp your voice. thats a fun one :-) theres also an MP3 feature but im no good with technology and i havent used it yet.
pictochat now has a new option- rainbow pen. you can write in rainbow or black now, and it shows up when you pictochat a regular ds lite or ds.
also another feature is dsi web browser. it is set up the same as the web browser you could buy for your ds or lite, but this version is much faster.
that doesnt mean its fast...its pretty slow. but considering you paid for a game console and not a laptop, its not a big deal.
Videos on youtube do not work on the dsi web browser. and it seems to work alot faster and better when its plugged into the wall with its charger. even though the internets not the fastest, it still is very helpful and its a nice feature.
theres a new and awesome feature with the dsi that i love. instead of having to turn off the ds every time you leave pictochat, or whatever, you just press the power button once and it takes you to the main screen. hold down the power button to turn it off.
i hope my review helped! its a very wise investmennnnnt. be sure to read my other reviews, i review ds games and whatnot. hope i helped!

EDITTTT...
Now, with the new system update, you are able to upload your pictures straight from your dsi on to facebook! cool, eh?

Helpful Review April 6, 2009 Reviewer:  Game Crazy Chick See all my reviews >

The new DSi has it's cosmetic perks, but unless you need to have the "new technology," this gaming console really isn't a necessity.

I find the camera to be a great idea, however, what purpose does it serve? The available games do not ask for profile pictures to play, thus making the camera not as interactive as we would think.

The slots, however, for the SD cards are a phenomenal upgrade. Here, if you know what you are doing, can store games and play them off of a SD card versus having the game. How you can get games, for free, is something I am not willing to tell how.

Nice performance with screen size, color, and interface. Easy to operate and understand compared to some handheld gaming systems like the PSP.

Overall, if you have a DS, stick with it. I am sure there is going to be another Nintendo product that will have your interest soon enough. If you are in the process, though, for getting a new handheld gaming system, the online store, interface, and SD slot, makes this handheld a good idea.

cool but lacking March 29, 2009 Reviewer:  Trinity343 "John" (Marietta, GA)  See all my reviews >

i like a lot of the new features that are going to be on the DSi such as the camera and being able to edit your photos, internet, and downloadable games however i think a big down fall of the system is that it can't play the old games. i don't have a DS yet either so all my games are from the Advance and further back in the gameboy lineup. getting the DSi would pretty much make the games i have obsolete and a lot of them are some of my favorite games i've ever played and still play. this would be the one thing that would keep me from wanting to get it, but who knows....we'll see when it's released

Worth every penny.. April 25, 2009 Reviewer:  Sunshine909 See all my reviews >

My son owns a DsLite and when I saw the DSi I just had to get one. I love the camera, music and internet.. I was surprised of the speed on the internet its actuall pretty good. I bought this system for myself :) but my older son wants one too so I'll be buying another one.. If you dont care about the camera or music dont get this get the DsLite. I do reccomend this especially for the teens out there that want their own laptops.. haha it lets them check their e-mails, & even myspace, you can store pics and music its everything they want and more..
