I've owned and used this toothbrush for about a week now. It's pretty much flawless so far, offering an EXTREMELY thorough cleaning and gum massage, as well as a soft setting for those with sensitive teeth & gums. Speaking as both a smoker and a heavy coffee drinker, I can honestly say that I've seen a noticeable difference in the appearance and feel of my teeth in the matter of a week. It completely destroys plaque, and gives you that nice, freshly-flossed feeling afterwards.
Aesthetically, the toothbrush is a pleasant addition to one's bathroom sink with it's streamline appearance and hidden charger.
The obvious pros are the cost of the toothbrush [...]. But if fewer dentist visits means spending a little more than the average person on a toothbrush that will last you at least 2 years (covered under warranty), you can definitely count ME in!

Excellent toothbrush recomended by a dental hygienist!

I am a dental hygienist, and work for three practices and all three recommend this toothbrush to our patients. As another review stated, that you had to cycle through the different modes to find the right one, that is incorrect. As a matter of fact, this toothbrush has MANY different heads that can be placed on this brush. Each one has a memory chip, and depending on the head type that is placed on this brush, the brush will automatically go to the correct setting. It comes with a great head that can be used to clean in between teeth. There is also an extra soft brush, an orthodontic brush for people with braces, a polishing brush, tongue cleaner, gum stimulator ect. It helps reduce gingivitis and removes 3x amount of plaque and has a digital timer on the handle so you don't stop brushing for less than two minutes. Most people only brush for 30 seconds. This brush is top notch!!!! Although Sonicare is ok (it doesnt come with as many gadgets as the Oral B) and the Rotadent is just a piece of garbage that breaks after a few months. I definately recommend this brush!

I feel like I've walked out of my dentists office every single day! The only problem I have with it is the fact it gets dirty very fast (the brushing head drips something blue when wet) and the charging port will smell like mold unless you dry off the Toothbrush after every brushing session.
With all honesty, I wouldn't change my Toothbrush!!!!

I have owned this toothbrush for about a year now and I hate it with a passion. To begin with every time you turn it on you have to filter through the cycles to get to the cycle that says clean. Try to do this with toothpaste on the brush and you will have a big mess. So you have to put toothpaste on the brush stick it in your mouth and then rotate it towards the mirror so you can see what cycle you have selected through the reflection. EVERY DAY. Next the brushing action is very vigorous. Much stronger than the rota dent I used before. It actually hurts my teeth. I have just started looking for a replacement, because I wanted to feel like I got my money's worth before I tossed it. My husband tried it once and hated it also. I will be looking into sonicare or another rota dent for my next toothbrush

I actually got this for Christmas, I had been saying I wanted one for a while, but wasn't sure because of the price. I will honestly say I will NEVER go back to regular brushes,,,whats funny is that I took my Travel brush with me instead of my "super one" and my teeth felt dirty my entire trip!!! I threw it away the instant I returned home, and like I said, I will never go back to regular brushes again!! About the comments below about changing power modes, I really never even noticed that you can change the mode, it stays powerful for me every day!!
Hope this helps...oh and its great for kids too, my son just got a "no cavity" award from the dentist

I bought my first Oral-B electric brush 9 years ago when my dentist recommended I get one. At my first check up post Oral-B, she noticed a big difference and my cleaning was A LOT LESS PAINFUL!
Even though the brush still works fine, I got a new one (Oral-B Triumph, also fantastic) and now keep the old one at work. My teeth feel so smooth and clean and I haven't had as many problems since I've been using it. No more cavities, painful cleanings, root canals, etc.
I've bought 3 of them to give as holiday gifts!!
Couldn't live without this!

I used the brush and it was terrible. My dentist said it was causing gum recession!! I would rather brush my teeth with a piece of metal than use this brush again!
