The n64 version was way better. The weapons in this one are not as intense as the n64 version, the extra features are not that great, and the online play is horrible. You don't even need people to play with you online to get the online achievements, you can just fill the slots up with bots. That's how pathetic this game is. If there was an actual story to the game then it would be alright. Also, if you get lost in the game they have arrows that show you the path on where to go. Talk about making it easy for you. Get this used somewhere else. It's most likely under $5.00 cause so many people turn this game in.

nice surprise December 14, 2007 Reviewer:  Johnny Boy (Racine, WI)  See all my reviews >

OK so the single player story line is a little weak, but as already mentioned the multiplayer is fantastic. Great maps (and more downloadable now), weapons, AI... and can play many different ways.

Highly recommended, especially under $20.

UPthenDOWN and repeat July 12, 2009 Reviewer:  ROCketLAUNcher "sam" (Hawaii)  See all my reviews >

The game was very different than the first one and I could say. Rare could have done a better job but luckly there is updates so they can fix problems and make the game's set-up
more laid out. The achievment system was a flaw but I liked the combat system a bit better but the online is made into that it sucks and you can just replace it with bots and AI but the only thing positive with the online is that you can talk with other people around the world. OUCH!!! Rare should better update the problems to make this a good one but really it has good amount of weapons and that doesn't make me cry that much. And the gameplay in my opinion is better, so is the controller setup. Rare should make a remake of Perfect Dark on the N64. Anyways what made me [mad] about people saying that there is not enough weapons because this is a PRELUDE this means the story takes before the title before itself. So it makes sense that the weapons are a bit weaker.
The game overall was great and I think that Rare could do alot better on the system of achievments. But this a great game. Well thats my opinion. Try the demo and think about it. Lets hope for another good patch!

Good-Bad-Good-Bad June 25, 2007 Reviewer:  BluejayStud3 (Oklahoma)  See all my reviews >

This game is in between a 3 and 4 (just to let you know)....This is a first person shooter. I was expecting a lot from this game because of the hype and it was a little disappointing because I just expected it to be better. This is an average game-nothing to brag home about. The campaign is kinda fun with a weak storyline. There are some cool guns in this game, but the best part about this game is the multiplayer. It is fun-you can play capture the flag, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and all the other standard multiplayer options. While this game had some positives, it also had alot of negatives that prevented this game to be as good as it could have been...

good multiplayer December 17, 2006 Reviewer:  Scott W. Shelton "Skitchrick" Real Name (Dirty South)  See all my reviews >

The solo game itself is about as exciting as watching paint dry, but the multiplayer makes this game worth buying. One element that is lacking in games today is COOPERATIVE multiplayer against AI- this has it- you can even set the skill level of the bots as you get better. Up to four people can play on live or LOCALLY- that means you don't have to go to xbox live and play with strangers. The maps are pretty good and the jet packs are fun. You can customize the weapons and vehicle sets in any match. Good times.

If you played the first you'll understasnd June 13, 2006 Reviewer:  Ice Dragon "John Farmer" (Dallas,Tx,USA)  See all my reviews >

I read the other comments about this game and I ask you did you play the first?? For the rest of us that have played the first on N64 I would say that this is a game that will answer some questions and leave some room for a PD2. The gameplay is diffrent from other shooters in the way you are able to cary weapons, certain weapons take up a number of slots and you only have 4 to work with, Rockets take 3 pistols 1. Also quick hint whatever weapons you finish a level with you add to your inventory to use on future missions(the weapons you pick can help immensely). With years in between (N64-XB360)an integral game to the now Perfect Dark saga!

Not as good as the hype May 22, 2006 Reviewer:  Gamer Girl See all my reviews >

This has got to be the worst of the X360 titles I've played. The gameplay is confusing, plot nearly non-existent and missions are frustrating with few to no save points. The few save points that exist are poorly implemented -- if you do have to restore to one, the game doesn't remember the interim accomplishments you made nor particulars about weaponry and ammo/armor you were equipped with.

Overall, I enjoyed Quake 4 MUCH more as a FPS title on the 360 even though it got much worse reviews than Perfect Dark. And Call of Duty is far superior to this title as well.

Standard shooter. January 27, 2006 Reviewer:  Netik09 "Frank M." (Edinburg, TX)  See all my reviews >

I enjoyed this game. It was ok, but I've had more fun with Super Nintendo games. This is supposed to be the next generation of gaming isn't it? You'll have a good time with Perfect Dark Zero, but don't expect the world.
