Bought this dvd player for the kids and it stopped working just days after the "90-day warranty". I would not recommend this product to anyone!!!!

...a [price] DVD player can become a long-lasting addition to the home, but beyond Emerald City, it just ain't so. I didn't use the player for the first 3 months of the 6 months that I've had it. About 90 days after I began using it daily, it just stopped working-- no gradual decline-- one minute it was playing, and the next it was not. They should just call it what it is: a DISPOSABLE DVD PLAYER.

Just bought this player tonight. We just got a DVR and didn't need our DVD/VHS combo in the family room anymore. Wanted a small compact DVD player instead. Was on sale and made by a brand we trust. After getting it hooked up, we couldn't get any of our discs to play. It kept saying there was no disc in the player. We are returning it tomorrow. What a dissapointment.

I needed a player for a bedroom and didn't want to spend much. It is a great player for the price. Very compact, too.

I see someone below rated this at 1 star because they clearly purchased a defective unit. It happens. Not with mine though. This DVD player is FANTASTIC for $30. I needed a player with a small foot print. I was shocked when I saw that this model had component output. I bought it on the spot.
After using it for a couple weeks I'm quite impressed. I like the fact that this uses a computer type DVD player (it even tells you when you are at the root level), allowing you to skip past those annoying FBI warnings and other video annoyances that most discs make you watch before the feature. That it plays home recorded dual layer discs makes it that much more valuable to me. I'm going to buy another tomorrow, no kidding.

I had two Phillips b4 so when my second one died i got this. It skips like an epileptic on a trampoline. I took it back and exchanged it for another one and had the same problems. Save yourself the headache and the trip back to the store.

It seems as if at least half of these players have the same defect; not just a coincidence. Save yourself the hassle and buy a decent player.
Mine worked fine for a month or two, but then (just like everyone else) it started skipping, then freezing, and now I am lucky if i can even get it to eject a disc.
Don't be fooled by the name brand manufacturer. This product is generally defective. In short, a piece of [junk]!

because it plays my DVDs. But this player drives me nuts because if you pause or stop it and walk away for about 10 minutes, the player automatically turns off completely. There is apparently no way to deactivate this "feature". Furthermor, it does not save your place in the video you were watching, so you have to search through again to find your place. I hate this thing!
