I am not sure how they can call these twinkling. It is very misleading packaging! It states "Twinkling and steady illuminating", well, I guess that's true, but unfortunately they are all steady lighting except about 8 bulbs. There are no controls to change the functions because THAT is the extent of the twinkling...8 bulbs! They make it seem as though it has both functions when it doesn't...boooo Phillips! I am taking these back ASAP! BTW I checked both packages and they did the same thing so it is not a fluke.

Having purchased tons of lights for years I know the definition of light sets really well. Whenever you see the 'word' twinkling, not flashing, it means their are independent bulbs in the set that flash on their own.

I picked up 3 strands and added to our tree. They are bright and by far the best sets I have ever used. The new lights (added to the existing set) give a cool effect to the room. The lights are projected all across the room.

I want to get more.

If your not sure, just try a couple of strings.
