Nice piece, with a few drawbacks

Reviewer:  Thomas Price "Crimson"  (Philadelphia area)  See all my reviews

This is a nice piece of furniture: sleek and sturdy. I have just two complaints about it. First, the assembly instructions were vague and at times difficult to follow. Second, the surface of the piece scratches VERY easily. I've already had to use touch-up paint to cover scratches.

I REALLY CAN'T COMPLAIN

Reviewer:  BIKER BOY  (Los Angeles, CA)  See all my reviews

Arrived in just five days, both boxes; many pieces but if you can read, comprehend, possess 1/2 oz of common sense, 1/2 oz. of patience, and lay the pieces out you can get it done in 3 or 4 hours. I assembled it alone. I had to take breaks because it's surely a project that requires your time. Get comfortable and be prepared for the challenge. There was a mix up in the number of shelves included vs. what was on the instructions, but the online form got me a quick response and they quickly sent the missing shelves, minus the small pieces that hold the shelves up. Now I have to call them and get those sent to me....but overall I have no complaints as of this date. It holds my t.v. perfectly and it looks good in my apt. I would recommend this product.

Great Sleek TV Console

We searched a while on-line for a new stand for our 42" tv for the living room. We chose this piece and are not disappointed. Only took one person a few hours to assemble. Console is black with silver hardware and looks very sleek. Our equipment fits nicely on the 3 shelves. Unit holds over 210 DVD's. We are very happy with our decision.

beautiful but not sturdy

Reviewer:  Catherine  See all my reviews

I bought this for the looks of it and the storage it provided. It is a beautiful piece and is sturdy but not for large TV's. I've had mine for a year now with a 52" tv and it is starting to sag in the middle making it difficult to open the drawers. It was mostly made out of particle board which concerned me but it claimed to be able to handle the weight. We are in the process of looking for something new now.

Could be better

Reviewer:  Frank A  (Maryland)  See all my reviews

I bought this stand back in April for my 46" LCD. I would rate it overall as good, but it could be much better.

Shipping.
It's particle board and was shipped in separate heavy boxes. Everything arrived in good condition.

Assembly.
Instructions read much like [another retailer's] item. Some parts were pretty vague and the illustrations were not that clear. Took me (by myself) about 2 hours to assemble. My biggest gripe concerns the door hinges. The instructions for installing the hinges are not well laid out and it does not stress the need to make sure they're properly aligned. One of my hinges is not aligned perfectly so the bottom of the left-side door scraps against the left corner of the stand when it's filled w/ CDs, so it's scraping off the paint surface there.

Appearance and use.
The black color is nice (although it picks up dust pretty quickly); and the unit looks pretty much just like the picture. I just noticed this week though that the base panel on the bottom is sagging or bending slightly in the middle. Aside from my LCD, the left-hand side is filled w/ DVDs and games and the center holds my PS3. Although it claims to hold a 60" flat panel, it shows signs of not being able to bear that weight. Luckily there's a leg attached in the center so I hope that keeps it from buckling

Great piece of furniture

Reviewer:  Spnkimnki  (NY)  See all my reviews

This is a great piece of furniture and looks exactly as pictured on the web. Mine arrived in two separate shipments but only a day apart. My only word of advice-take your time putting it together. Though the instructions are pretty clear there are alot of pieces. It took me almost 3 hrs to complete (I did it alone.) The time was well worth it. It is sturdy and looks great in the room!

Sleek Contemporary style TV Cabinet

Reviewer:  R. Fisher "R. Fisher"  (Woodland, CA)  See all my reviews

My husband and I just put this unit together. It took approx. 2 hours but the instructions were very clear and everything fit together perfectly. We love that the back panel slides open making for easy access to the varioius plugs and then slides closed to neatly hide the messy cords. The unit has lots of storage for your DVD's CD's or VHS tapes behind the doors so it is a very clutter free looking unit. I looked at hundreds of cabinets and kept going back to this one....and I'm very happy I ordered it. It is an encomically priced unit but does not at all look "cheap". I highly recommend this unit.

Very Nice

Reviewer:  Sarah  (Buffalo, NY)  See all my reviews

For the price of this stand, it is just as good if not better than most of the much more expensive ones I have looked at. After assembly it was quite strong and withstood being moved around with all of the cabinets and components all loaded.

Not too bad

Reviewer:  Smart Shopper  (USA)  See all my reviews

We bought this piece to put our new 57' HD TV. As long as you follow the directions, step by step, and do not over tighten your screws(it is made of particle board)it stands fine...No wobble. If you want a better stand go pay 700.00 you get what you pay for.

NEED TO BUY BETTER SCREWS

Reviewer:  unhappy "unhappy"  (florida)  See all my reviews

Although this is a beautiful TV stand, putting it together was a nightmare. Proper screws and bolts were not included. Once put together with the supplies it came with, the stand shook and shimmed all over the place. Need to spend an additional $20 at the hardware store.
