First of all, I want to say that in principle, these are beautiful, well-designed glasses that I had been very excited to receive when they arrived. At first glance one will notice that the base is perfectly thick - the low center of gravity keeps them from tipping over easily despite their stylish rounded edges. The walls are also sturdier than many cheaper glasses and should resist breaking very well. It's a glass that feels really great in your hand.

Unfortunately, the design of these glasses also presents a problem. Because there is so much material in the base and on the lower part of the sides, the glasses (or at least the batch that I received in my order) are prone to manufacturing defects that leave the glass "lop-sided" so that it tilts to one side quite severely (at least to my eye). It's most noticeable when the glass is rotated on a flat surface. I believe this is probably the result of one side cooling faster than the other when they are being made at the Libbey plant so that the hotter side sags a little more as the glass takes its final shape.

I ultimately decided to return my glasses to Target.com [...] because I can't stand to have asymmetrical glasses. Other people might not be as put off by the imperfection. Unfortunately, this product is an "online only" one, so there's no opportunity to check it out for yourself before making your purchase. I would strongly advise caution anytime you buy something sight unseen - I certainly won't be making anymore "online only" purchases myself.

I received these as a wedding gift from my registry - I never even opened the box because it was clear each and every glass was shattered during shipping. I returned them at a Target store without any hassle. Was going to order them again, but after reading so many reviews with breakage stories, I'll try a different set.

I had these on my registry for our wedding. I LOVE the look and feel of these glasses: nice & simple. However, having moved into a temporary rental home while our home was being built, we had a ceramic sink with no dishwasher. Now, with me being the only dishwasher in the house...i would hardly knick the sink and the glass would break. I only have ONE tall glass left (all the short ones survived). I'm sure in this day and age, most all have dishwashers and no ceramic sinks..but, it is something to consider. My brother loved the look of them and ordered a set, as well. He has had better luck than I.

I loved the look of these glasses. I had searched for weeks to find the ones I liked. I bought them and within a few days the first one broke. I bought them in May and it is now October and most are gone. Do not waste your money on these glasses. They have beauty but no quality.

I am still waiting for this item to be delivered. A wedding gift for my niece and her new husband. The first set of glasses were shattered in shipping and never made it to them.
I was told another shipment would be sent a few days later. As of yesterday (Tuesday 4/24/09) they had not received them. The glasses were in my price range and my niece liked them enough to include them in her bridal registry.

The glasses themselves are very elegant and great to use, but when my set arrived, three of them were broken. Target was very professional and replaced them for me with no hassle, but when the replacement arrived one of them was broken, too! But, between the two boxes I was able to get a complete set.

I ordered a set of these glasses. When they arrived, there were 3 broken ones. But I talked to Target and they are sending replacement glasses asap. It would be much easier if they carried these glasses in the store like they used to.

These glasses are very strong they get banged against the faucet when my son is doing the dishes and not one have been broken.They are a bit heavy but a great item

Target did a terrible job of packaging this order (the box was heavy and over-filled, without enough packing material). As a result, one of the glasses in this set arrived broken. The glases themselves are otherwise as I expected.
