I purchased this TV/DVD combo at a Target store on 10/26/08 to use on weekend trips. Over 8 mo. it was used it only 26 days. It has good picture & OK sound. A month ago the remote stopped working. This past weekend the DVD stopped working. On line warranty info list this as carry in service and that the product, including any accessories included in original packaging as supplied is warranted. I called customer service to find the carry in location. Message said they are busy and it may take up to 3 min. to speak to someone. 30 min. later when I got a real person I was told that the TV must be sent to their center in CA. and that the remote is not covered. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got voice mail. I'm still waiting for a return call. I purchased this item before the other reviews were posted. Had they been posted when I purchased my TV I would have stayed away from this item. Target still carries this as a current product. I don't know why as this has to hurt their reputation if this is an example of the quality of products they carry.

I wish I would have read some of the other reviews before purchasing. This is nothing against Target. I bought the unit in 10/08. it didn't come with a power adapter, Target replaced no problem. Then in 3/09 the DVD player stopped working. Trying to get tech support on the phone was like pulling teeth. Finally after a week of calling, i got a tech and had to ship out the unit for RMA. 4 weeks later i got the TV back, and the DVD player now plays the last chapter instead of going to the Menu. I called tech support again and am now getting a CD with firmware upgrade. Guess i'll take what i can get since i can't return to Target. Will never buy Polaroid TV again only because tech support is so hard to get a hold of. Steer clear of this product.

I purchased this product in September. By October, the dvd function had failed. Target graciously and efficiently replaced it. It failed on the second set in about January. Frustrated (if outside Target's exchange period, don't even think about trying to get repair/replacement satisfaction from Polaroid), I attached a brand new external dvd player. By March, the tv was failing to read and display from that player as well (same prompts as when the first two internal players failed.) Please don't spend either your money on this product or your time trying to get service when it breaks -- and it will!

This is a feature-laden TV for the price. Unfortunately, there are some real quality problems that make this product a poor purchase.
I received this TV/DVD combo as a gift just before Christmas. It is in a bedroom, so I only use it about once per week. Even so, the DVD player has failed within 3 months. In other words, I probably only used the DVD player about 12 times before it failed. So, now I have attached a cheap external DVD player to provide that function.
Some other negatives...
The sound is truly horrible. I’m not that picky when it comes to sound quality, but the speakers are really bad. I plugged in some $12 external speakers, which vastly improved the sound quality.
The viewing angle on the LCD is extremely narrow, especially vertically, even by LCD standards.
One other thing to keep in mind, is that the screen height on any 15” wide-screen TV is only 8”. It is hard to view this TV from across a moderate sized bedroom (made even worse by the narrow viewing angle).

We bought 3 of them for the kids to each have a TV for Christmas. It's March 4th now, and 2 of the 3 now have dead DVD drives that just click, click, click, but never spin up.
They also have a ridiculously clumsy interface. Once you put a DVD in you have to cycle through the inputs to get to the DVD. Why wouldn't they make it so putting a DVD automatically switches the input? Clearly just bad design on top of bad design.

This TV/DVD combo is perfect for those who like to dig the packing materials from the garage after 3 days and take the thing back to the store because it no longer works. The DVD quit working after only 3 days in which we played 2 disks. If you buy something made in China, make sure it is backed by Japanese quality controls. Polaroid doesn't know what quality is yet.

I've exchanged this television 3 times. The DVD player will break in a few weeks if you are a heavy DVD watcher. DO NO BUY THIS PRODUCT.

My complaint does not apply to this particular model, but July 31, 2008 my husband and I purchased a 26" Polaroid with built in DVD player. This was 4 days before I was scheduled to go to the hospital to have my 2nd child. We wanted a tv in what was now going to be our new bedroom with the lil one. However, on December 8, 2008, just 4 months and 1 wk into our newly purchased tv, which at the time, cost 550.00 (estimate), it just cut off that Monday morning and never came back on. My husband just tried returning to the store in which we purchased it from (NOT Target) and of course, they will not take it back because it is beyond 90 days. I have read the reviews on Polaroid and needless to say, I am NOT enthuised about trying to hassle them about my tv. I will see how things go this week and see how long I will be without a tv.

I was shopping around for a small flat panel to use in my vehicle.This tv fits the bill.The first benifit, the tv has a seperate power supply. Power supply?? Let me explain,there is a regular cord with a transformer, that reduces the voltage to 12volts DC. Your typical car cigarette lighter is 12 volts. So,.. I was able to find a adaptor that fits the tv's connection.So,.. you can get a cigarette lighter plug, with the adaptor, plug in the tv, and viola!The second benifit,.. the hdmi input for high definition actually works with the sony ps3!! I tryed other larger tv's, ie.. 22"lcd, & the tv would not work. ( "mode not supported" would come up in the display)3rd. benefit,.. the price is less expensive the one of those overhead flip down models, which probably won't let you display hi-def video.

I purchased this unit in June of 08 and the DVD failed in November of 08. The unit will be covered under warranty ONLY if accompanied by ORIGINAL receipt. Credit card receipt will not due. Extremely poor service. Will NOT purchase another Polaroid product again!
