It is exactly what Polaroid said ... but ...

This device is exactly what Polaroid says it would be. The problem is I didn't read up on the FAQs from Polaroid before ordering, I just used the Target page. I needed something for show demonstrations of a different product that would let me print from my phone as well as my laptop separately.
Target.com says this:
• From send to share, printer prints quickly
• For use with digital cameras and select cell phones
Polaroid is a bit more descriptive by saying this:
Question:
I connected the printer to my computer but I can't print pictures. What is causing this?
Answer:
The printer was not designed to print photos directly from a computer using a USB connection. No printer driver software that allows the printer to be recognized by a PC is available at this time when connected with USB. If you want to print from a Windows PC, use a Bluetooth connection.
Translation: if you have -any- need to print from a laptop don't get this. It paired up fine with my laptop but won't print anything. Would be a good idea for Target to make that a bit clearer in the main description.
Otherwise its a pretty cool device. Sadly its going back. Someone's gonna get a nice cheap refurb someday :) Gratz. I'm not worried about it, I like the "return to store" policy.

This is really cool - run through three ten-packs already. Picture quality is great from my Nikon L5, less so from my Samsung M510 cell phone camera (7.0 vs 1.3 MP). I've loaded my Business Card image into my cell phone. Can't wait for my next opportunity to give one out :>)

this is great fun. Images are decent quality, not analog film quality but perfect for small keepsake pictures. the printer itself is small enough to fit in a pocket or bag and is solidly built. it is very easy to use with bluetooth or usb. I have primarily used it to print pictures to give to friends and family. colors are good and the images are sharp. There are a couple things you should be aware of to avoid disappointment as expressed by a couple of reviewers.
1. your camera has to have pict bridge to use this printer. nearly all cameras have it but you should make sure prior to buying.
2. image quality is from my research about 300 dpi. this is fine for keepsake pictures or those who are not obsessive about getting the best resolution possible. I find that the image quality is on par with what you can typically get from an inkjet printer.
3. don't expect cell phone pictures to look as good as from a real camera, they won't. the difference from a 2mp camera phone and a 5mp camera is dramatic
Bottom line, i am an amateur photographer who shoots medium format film that gives astoundingly sharp images even at poster size but I still LOVE this little printer and I am very pleased with the results it gives. I highly recommend it. great job polaroid!
This is perfect for parties to give mementos to friends, travel to have an instant physical image to give someone, journals, and printing images for less technically savy people, if your parents or grandparents have a digital camera and don't know what to do with it buy them one of these!
finally if you like the convenience of digital but miss analog film and prints you will like this printer a bunch. it is WAY easier and more convenient than using a standard inkjet printer with similar performance.

I believe in brevity, so I'll keep it simple:
1. This device cannot be charged over a USB connection!
2. It is not intended to be connected to a PC as a printer!
3. Battery will only hold a charge for 12-15 prints. So unless you are always near an outlet or have a car charger (not included), this is anything but a portable and handy device.
In short... wait for the next generation of this device.

Whoever wrote the other (first) review obviously didn't own this product. they said they aren't even sure you can use another brand??? Here is the real scoop, you can print from your cell via bluetooth, and if you have the USB connector for your digital camera you can print from the camera. I really wish people who put reviews on products actually used them first. I have and I love this printer!!!!

This printer has been so much fun. The quality of the pictures has been great. It is so compact and easy to use. I carry it with me and have used it at two bridal showers. Took pictures that night and put it in a scrapbook I had made for the bride. It was well worth the money.

We got this printer as a Fathers Day/Mothers Day gift, from our son in the USMC in Iraq! He emailed and said, watch for something neat in the mail. "I have some of the best memories of my life with the both of you. You are always on the move, so here is something for you to keep track of it all!" What a great boy! and what a great gift! Of course for something this small, the quality isn't worthy of 5 stars, but for the ease of use and set up, the portability and the cost of the prints onto a sticker sheet! Well the Plus's far out weigh the negatives!

I love this printer however, the pictures aren't as clear as I thought it was going to be. So I'm a little disappointed.

I was very excited about this printer. It's so small and portable. But the Picture quality is aweful! very streaky and the colors were way off. The pictures are also a lot smaller then I expected. The power cord is also bulkier than the printer itself. I returned this without a second thought

I got this printer with money that my school gave me for passing a state test, and honestly IM IN LOVE!! ive covered all of my note books and binders with pictures and its awesome for wallets too. the only downside is the battery, but you could print while it charges so its not that bad.
