We have had our DVD player for 2 years! From what I have been reading, this is a record life span for a portable DVD player. Ours has been dropped (numorous times), colored on, food spilled on, used and abused by our now 3 year old. We are in the market for a new one because the door that holds the DVD in finally broke, the player still works great, it just has to be completely still...also we have two kids now and would like 2 screens. We will definitely buy another Polaroid. Also, LOVE THE Swival screen!

The box is worth more than this player is

If you are thinking about buying this player, I would strongly suggest you consider other brands. This is the second panasonic portable DVD player I owned (the first was a gift from my wife - which I had good luck with so I purchased a second).) and this one didn't work right out of the box.
It has an exceptionally difficult time spinning up discs, and will randomly pause, even on discs that are completely clean (and work in other players).
I've owned this player for about three months, and initially thought it just had a problem with transcribed discs made using a DVD recorder. Turns out this player is just a piece of junk. Normally I recommend panasonic products, but as the title says, the box is probably the most valuable piece of equipment in the box. Do not buy this player unless you enjoy throwing good money after bad.

I have a disabled son who is not nice to dvd players: they get dropped from the bed, water has been poured on them (we have learned to be quick to the rescue), some other sticky substance, etc. Granted we have "dried out" the player after the water incidents (more than one) and use a second player in the meantime, but when something happens to that one, we put out the spare, and it works!! Today I had to pry the lid open from previous sticky stuff--now we did clean it, we just can't get all of it--and it worked again. We have been going back to these players, and they seem to go and go and go...

I am on my second Polaroid DVD player. I chalked up the first one failing on hard use by my son. (didn't last a year) got a second one, and once again in less than a year, it is acting up. This time, only I use it, so I know it hasn't been abused. It freezes and skips, tells me the DVD is bad, etc. Piece of junk for the money!!

I love my Polaroid DVD player! I have never had a problem with it, and I have had it over a year now!! I have taken it on road trips, and even let my 3 yr. old nephew handle it with NO problems. The battery, when fully charged, lasts through one and a half full movies. Very clear picture...mine came with headphones.....great sound. Would not want to be without it.

I bought this DVD player after reading reviews. I soon learned this company's DVDs are hit and miss. I missed. 2 days after my purchase the screen went blank. I has sound but, no picture. I found out that this is a common problem with Poloroid's DVDs. Their warranty is only 90 days. Some DVDs go out after 6 months. Be careful.
