I've had my chairs for just over a year now. They look good and are comfortable but they haven't stood up to time. The arms of the chair are chipped from where they have hit up against each other around the table and now in the last 2 months 2 of the chairs have completely broken. The welding on the base of the chair has broken apart!

I bought these chairs just over a year ago also, and the welding broke that attached it to the base on one of them. They are attractive, but a bit cumbersome and heavy for sliding in and out from around the table, and they are obviously poorly made. I'm going to have to take them to a welder and have an expensive re-welding job done, if that is even possible. Otherwise, the one is unusable, and the second likely will be very soon. Don't get [...] in by the LOOKS of these chairs---they don't hold up well at all.

We purchased our Hillsdale Pompei swivel chairs and table set about 3 or 4 years ago and it has been a very good set. The swivel chairs have casters that make it easy to move about and the glass topped table is easy to clean and maintain. This set has been used by our family, as well as guests and our family (children, grand-children, etc.) and everyone has commented on the sturdiness and comfort of the chairs. Highly recommended.
