I ordered this chest and the matching 6-drawer dresser for my bedroom. I was very disappointed to open the boxes and see cardboard as parts. They dressers aren't that difficult to put together but it does take a long time because the parts don't fit as well as they should. The parts are so flimsy that I was afraid I would break each piece by simply touching it. Nice of them to include the "detailing marker" which is actually a cheaper version of a Sharpie that you use to touch up the many, many scraps and scratches that occur by putting the dresser together. The dresser and chest tops arrived damaged and then the company sent the wrong parts as replacements. I'm still waiting on the tops so I can finish this project.

i would not recommend purchasing this item. The back is made of card board and it is not sturdy. The drawers do not lock in and stay level. It is very low quality, the face of two of my drawers have already fallen off, and i bought it less then two months ago. the bottom of each drawer is also made of card board so they sink very easily, and do not hold alot.

Very disappointed in chest, would rate lower if I could. Directions poor, hard to assemble and I didn't realize that high quality wood composite meant cardboard. The back and drawer bottoms were cardboard. The chest had nicks and mars. I bought two pieces of the sonoma furniture and the dresser was in worse condition. Never again.

For your own good...do not buy. I bought it six months ago and I can still remember the 4 hours it took me to assemble it. The back of it is not even wood its a cardboard. the draws look good but are the rolls on them do not work, the quality is totally junk. Not that I did not expect it but not for that amount of money. Six months down the line and the thin bottom of the draw broke in half. Unless you are planing to assemble it and do not use, just leave it for show, do not buy this!

After assembling we discovered a missing knob. The manufacturer has an easy to use online interface to order the missing part but the Target.com customer service only gave me a phone number that doesn't have weekend support. The chest is nice but there are some chips in the paint as well. Not high quality - I wouldn't order from this manufacturer again.

I recently received this item as a gift. When it was finally assembled; as poor directions were included and nothing was marked; it did not stand correctly. With and without items in it, it shook and wobbled. It could not support any weight. I am afarid it would topple over if pulled on by a child. This is not a safe item.

I have the ENTIRE set of prepac furniture for this set. I purchased the Bookshelf headboard, platform bed, 2 nightstands, 6 drawer long dresser and the 5 drawer high dresser. I have owed these pieces for a little over a year now.

This dresser was fairly easy to put together, I had help putting together all the pieces and from experience, if you READ the directions and are female its not that bad, I had two men who refused to read them and messed up everything they touched. The dresser is still holding up ok but I think that the drawers are way to shallow. I wish they were a bit deeper.During the first couple months having it the drawers would break, i think we overtightened the screws or something but it did that about 4 times and hasn't done it again since then. Regardless I still don't care for this dresser. I am in the market for a new one.

I don't suggest buying this dresser but I DO suggest the other pieces in the set, like the bed, headboard and nightstands. I love them!

I bought this chest 1 year ago, along with the matching night table for my granddaughter. One of the best buys I've ever made. Shipped to my daughter in Utah, arrived unscathed. All the parts were there and they had no problem putting them together, although did take a little time. Very sturdy, nice knobs, drawers roll good. Would recommend this to anyone.

I have a whole bedroom of this stuff and it looks great.
To the person who was surprised they had to assemble it - it's important to read all of the tabs on the information page. My only problem was to follow the instructions step by step - when I did that it was great!
