use it everyday! great for big family! May 20, 2007 Reviewer:  Eva Elizabeth Meyer "domestic goddess" Real Name (miami beach, fl)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this a few months ago after doing tons of online research. I wanted a LARGE skillet to cook for a family of EIGHT.. and a QUALITY skillet.. and this delivers. Way better value than cuisinarts over 100$ one, though not as pretty..this presto skillet can cook for a crowd quickly and cleans up in an instant, It fits in my dishwasher and after 3 months of daily use and nightly runs through the dishwasher it is still in good shape. I would have given it 5 stars, but the legs do get a bit wobbly after a few weeks steady use but it is easy to re-tighten the screws and good as new. I have made huge batches of fried chicken, 8 large pancakes at once, chicken parmesan for 8, or scrambled eggs with sausage and bacon all at the same time. I rarely ever pull out my old pans..this thing LIVES on my glass stovetop. I LOVE it.. EXCELLENT buy..must have, esp if cooking for more than 4 at a time. No regrets.

Awesome skillet!!! April 16, 2007 Reviewer:  Cooking with ease "Yvonne T." (Orlando, FL USA)  See all my reviews >

This is the best investment anyone can make. If you are looking for an appliance that does everything, well you have found it!! This electric skillet lets you cook anything you want wihtout the Pam Cooking Spray, butter or even OIL. I have done, steak, chicken and fish and everything comes out moist and full of flavor. I have even cooked vegetables!!! The best part about this skillet is the clean up, it's as easy as 1 2 3. This skillet is wonderful for anyone trying to eat healthy or lose weight!

Please to have gotten this Skillet March 1, 2008 Reviewer:  K. MEISTER Real Name See all my reviews >

As the previous reviewer, I, too, were basing all the skillets that I have looked at on customers reviews. All the reviews on this one was right on. I can not be happier to have made this purchase without the reviews. You can just about cook or fry or whatever you want to cook in it.

The reason why I gave this a 4 star not a 5 star. I had a difficult time in trying to drain grease out of it. I managed, but that the only negative about this skillet.

Everything else on the skillet is excellent and I do love the idea of washing the skillet not wiping it down with a towel or soemthing like some others do. But remember to remove the temperature unit before you do any type of cleaning to the skillet.

I would definitely recommend this wonderful skillet to anyone. You can not go wrong.

Grea Skillet! October 3, 2007 Reviewer:  Newlywed (Boise, ID)  See all my reviews >

I love this skillet! It is so easy to cook things on and heats up really fast. It is great when you don't have any room left on your stove, but I will usually use it before my old pans anyway! Great buy!

Amazing electric skillet November 21, 2007 Reviewer:  kitchen challenged See all my reviews >

Just purchased the skillet today ($28.00!!!) because it's the day before thanksgiving and haven't received my new stove yet (another story...) This is an incredible appliance, I can see using it all the time. You can boil water, sautee vegetables, cook sauces, and bake all in this machine. I know this because I prepared an entire lasagne from scratch solely with this skillet. On top of that, I have a pan that I placed inside it to continue the baking process, and it is baking as I write. One thing I noticed, there is a clicking noise while it is on, but I don't think that's a problem. Go out and buy one today! This might replace all kitchen appliances.

Terrific Appliance!!!! May 24, 2007 Reviewer:  Rah Rah See all my reviews >

I call it an appliance because it cooks wonderfully. I bought it 2 months ago, and I pulled it out of the closet and I have used it twice already this week. I fixed steak stir-fry for supper...You'll never go back to a wok after using this, and its more than big enough, but really not too big. Last night I saute'd fresh squash from my garden. Yummy! If you have been wanting an electric skillet...don't wait!

superb April 3, 2008 Reviewer:  K. K. Morrison "Kristi" Real Name (Stephenville, Texas)  See all my reviews >

I rec'd this for a Christmas gift from my daughter and son in law. I let it set for about a month before I used it and I hardly ever fire up the stove top to use a regular skillet. You can cook a large package of meat in it or a small amount with a fried veggie at the same time. I use very little olive oil or vegetable oil when frying. I have yet to try to bake in it or anything else but would highly recommend it to anyone. I am buying one for a wedding gift and will purchase them in the future for gifts.

Accpetable - but with some flaws March 17, 2009 Reviewer:  Camp4Fun (Cincinnati, Ohio)  See all my reviews >

The Presto 16” electric skillet is an acceptable skillet. I have used it several times and I find that it is on par from a performance standpoint to the GE Electric skillet that it replaced. The GE lasted about 2 years before the thermostat control stopped working. It cost about the same 40 bucks that the Presto costs.

However there are 2 glaring weaknesses to the Presto Skillet. First is that the feet are small where they touch the counter and have no rubber (or other material) that would keep them from sliding all over most countertops. Second it that the pretty plastic lid has no steam hole meaning that if you want to allow steam to escape while not allowing simmering liquid to make a mess all over the counter you have put the lid on kind of crooked. The old GE skillet had both of these features and I cannot imaging they added much cost to the product.

As for cooking, the Presto still cooks in the same uneven circular pattern that follows the heating element as all Electric Skillets in this price range. The Non-stick coating is fine for now. I do not believe the non-stick coating on this skillet is any better or worse that any other skillet I have owned. The aluminum skillet itself is a thicker (a heavier gauge aluminum) that my GE skillet. And it is an attractive skillet.

However, I would have gladly traded some looks for legs that didn’t allow the thing to slide all over the counter.

Great Skillet January 19, 2008 Reviewer:  M. Endicott Real Name (Missouri)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this skillet based strictly on reviews here and elsewhere. I absolutely love this skillet. It distributes good even heat and cooks nicely. Definitely recommend it. The only thing I don't like is it does not have a steam hole in the lid.

MY favorita appliance in the kitchen January 11, 2009 Reviewer:  Phoebe L. Lehman "Phoebe" Real Name (Desert Hills, AZ)  See all my reviews >

I was out with my daughter to buy her a nice electric skillet and got this one for myself. I use it all of the time. Was tired of using a big pan on the stove because nothing cooked evenly and it was just a tad too small.
It has a large cooking surface and the heat is evenly distributed. I make alot of stir fry and now don't have to use several pans to make it.
My hub loves fried eggs on the weekends so after I make the bacon, I set two legs on the edge of the stove so the skillet tilts so the bacon grease wells on one side. Perfect eggs everytime.
It's wonderful for spaghetti sauce and you can slow cook for hours on low.
The lid goes into the dishwasher and the base is easy to clean.
The only thing about it is that the screws for the legs wiggle loose every so often but that's no big deal. I love this skillet and would highly recommend it.
