This is very satisfying. I just bought it today and is VERY solid. Some assembly required, but it comes with small tools to use. I use it mostly for chin-ups and it's great!!! I like the Iron Gym better than regular chin-up bars, because most chin-up bars ruin your walls, but the Iron Gym hangs on your wood molding and has foaming to prevent scratches. It has foaming for excellent grip, too... You must buy this product!!!

For the price, I couldn't complain about the product. The commercials describe the product pretty accurately. It was easy to set up and no tools were necessary. Once I put it together, I put it on my bedroom door frame and started.
Before I got the Iron Gym, I couldn't do a pull up. I started by doing negatives for the first few days and then by the end of the week I could do 2-3. Now, two weeks after purchasing the Iron Gym, I can do five to seven in a row. It's also great for ab workouts and pushups.
The only complaint I have is that it doesn't really work for doing dips. It is much to short, but if you get a box to put your feet on it does the trick.
Overall, a great buy for somebody looking to put a pull up bar in their home without having to screw anything to the walls or ceiling.

I must say, I was very skeptical of prooducts seen on TV. But after seeing and researching many different products, I came to the conclusion to try this one over the more expensive [...........]Perfect Pull-up. For just [........]and a free [..........]giftcard, it was an absolute steal. Assembly was easy, its sturdy, and its true to description. Another advantage Iron Gym has over PP is that its removable, so you can take it down to use for crunches, push-ups, and dips. The only con are the foam handles. They kind of hurt and they move a little, but its not that big of deal.

My husband and I decided to buy the Iron Gym to use in conjuction with the Power90X videos, which requires the use of either bands or a pull up bar. We tried the bands first, but have gotten much better results with the Iron Gym. Once we build our strenght a little more, we will also be able to use the Iron Gym to give us a deeper range of motion with our push ups (also on the P90X video). I was surprised by the Iron Gym's sturdiness given it's light weight material. We have seen only minimal rubbing of the paint on our door frame...primairly due to clumsiness on our part. It is easy to install/put together and travels well.

I was a bit skeptical of this product as I am of most "As seen on TV" products. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how well this item is designed and works. It works exactly as advertised and the quality of materials is better than I expected. I'm amazed at how well it hangs solidly in the door and feels very stable when I do pull-ups. I only give it 4 stars because I think the foam should be thicker for more comfort.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS IRON GYM PRODUCT! I purchased for my husband for Christmas 08. By March 09 one of the bolts that holds the curved bar to the straight bar broke. When I called the customer serv # for Iron Gym, they told me that because I was past the 60 day warranty, they would not do ANYTHING for me. When I explained that all I needed was a replacement bolt, they said they won't give or even SELL me one!! So, basically, the company will make the product, then take people's money for it, but will not guarantee that it will last any longer than 60 days. That's a piece of crap product and I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. I will be following up with the company in New Jersey, but based on the complete lack of service and care I received from the customer service call center, I don't expect to get anywhere with them either.

I'm a female and I have to say I really do like this product. A lot of my guy friends have also recently purchased this product and we all feel the same way. Great buy, great price, easy set up. I just needed to get a long piece of wood to drill above my barely there molding. Now it holds up just fine. So make sure you have one inch of molding on the door otherwise go to the hardware store like I did. By the way, it resists up to 300lbs so your molding will not break. Also just looking at the way its designed it seems safe enough to hold that much.

The Iron Gym is a great product if you don't have much time to work out in your schedule. It was easy to assemble, and works great. At first, I thought it would fall off the door, but I was wrong. The instructions give you some work outs you can do and a diet plan to lose body fat while toning muscles. The only set back is it hurts on your hands, but that can be solved with some gloves to protect your hands. Other than that, the product is a must have.

As the others have said...it works. The black foam left minor black marks on my white door frame. Everyone should keep in mind that this sits close to the top of your door, so if you are shorter you may want to consider a bar that screws in at a better height for you. If you can deal with the higher height (stand on box?) Iron gym is the way to go.
