I bought this fan to move the air in my bedroom while I sleep. The fan itself and the antique look is wonderful, and it moves the air very well. I also like that the controls are on the base and easy to reach. I could give it 5 stars, if it weren't for the fact that when it oscillates, at the very end of each oscillation, on low and medium speeds, it makes a vibration noise that fans used to make (when I was young). It never bothered me back then, but today, it annoys me very much. This could just be a glitch in the particular fan I got, or it may be something to give it that antique aura, but that noise bothers me when I'm trying to sleep. I do like the look of the fan, and the way it moves the air, but it will be in a room other than where I sleep.
