our ghetto apartment building had bed bugs. i didnt want to spend [$] to get one of these covers online. so i gave in and bought 2 of them from target despite bad reviews.. i think other people who had a bad expierence with this product must not have been careful when they put it on. ours went on fine.. didnt rip.. and sealed the mattress and pad just fine... dont shy away from this because of the bad reviews.. just be really careful when zipping it up or putting it on...
