We were ready to move to 1080p, leaving 1080i converted from a much older HD technology (2000). We did our research, and I think the trick for buying any electronics, is to really understand what you want, and find the product that matches that - stick to your needs and wants, and toss in a bit of future technology and you'll have something you'll be extremely happy with. That sounds incredibly simple, but it's easy to get distracted by having the latest (even though that doesn't do anything for you), or the next gadget mentioned by a sales person. But we are not into bells buttons and buzzers. We want performance. So when we walked into Target, and the helpful sales associate showed us one more brand and model...we honestly considered it for about 5 minutes, until we realized that it only looked good when the picture was static - it was a comparible brand, but the features such as movement and colors are a lot more of a factor, when they interact, in the current technology. And since static TV accounts for so little TV time, we dismissed it and kept true to our decision to go with this model.I said all that, to mention what other reviewers have said - no bells buttons or buzzers...we didn't need internet ready (we have laptops for that), and 120hz is quite sufficient...it was probably THE easiest electronics purchase we've made, and the time from opening the box, to movie time was probably 15 minutes. The start up documentation is top notch, and I was extremely impressed with how the box opens. Someone was actually thinking! Overall - the picture is beyond fabulous. We went with the included stand for our set up, and it took only 5 minutes to install securely. The clarity is worth getting 1080p. We highly recommend this particular model over other Vizio models in this size. It seems to have the right blend of features. This is NOT the TV for you, if you need it to also produce your sound. We have a current set up that splits and send the sound directly to the receiver, so we don't use TV speakers. These speakers work well for voices, but are not high quality at all.
