Read The Directions For a Fun Pool or Bath Friend April 20, 2009 Reviewer:  Susan in Maryland (Maryland)  See all my reviews >

My daugher is 5 and loves to take this cute little dog in the tub with her. He works fine, and yes, he does not turn off as soon as you take him from the water, BUT if you read the directions it says to push the little heart charm on his collar for 2 seconds and he will turn off. Also, he will roll over in the tub, AGAIN in the directions it says to hold the puppy's body under water until the air bubbles disapear. After you do this he swims perfectly. Seems some kids are missing out because they weren't shown how to use their puppy properly.

My Daughter Loves it January 6, 2009 Reviewer:  lovin mom (Chicago, Il, USA)  See all my reviews >

We got this for my daughter for Christmas she's 4 1/2. She plays with it all the time. It walks around on the floor and it also swims with her in the tub. I don't understand all the bad reviews. I saw a lot of reviews about not being able to turn it off if you touch the heart on the chest it turns off. We love it and it's so cute with the goggles on. His towel could be a little bigger. I agree with the other review. Read the Directions. Toys get bad reviews because some just don't have the time to read. I would recommend this is a matter of fact I am going out this week to get my niece one.

My daughter loves it!!! December 31, 2008 Reviewer:  ourcave (NJ)  See all my reviews >

I was surprised to see so many bad reviews on here!!
My daughter got this for Christmas and she loves it. It's great because it can walk on the floors or swim. So she can use it anywhere.
When we first tried it in the bathtub I was a bit disappointed because it going down head-first. I read that if you hold it under water until the air bubbles stop, it should balance it out. That didn't work. But once I let all the water drain back out and just plopped it in the water, it swam just fine! (I was letting her play with it in the tub as it was filling up, but when putting the puppy into an already full tub it works fine.) I have no idea why this would make a difference, but it does.
Ours stops walking within seconds of taking it out of the water, as soon as the water isn't touching the sensors. I'm surprised at the reviews I read about it not stopping! I guess an on/off switch may have been a good addition to this item?
All in all we are very happy with this. It isn't educational, but it's a great toy for an animal & bath loving little girl!!

swim to me puppy drowns. December 26, 2008 Reviewer:  Momma of 3 girls (illinois)  See all my reviews >

After weeks of waiting for santa to bring this toy, my children finally got one. The toy stopped working shortly after putting it into the water. Let the water drain out and it still doesn't work. Occasionally it will make a weak attempt to move it's legs. Very dissappointed. Don't waste your money!

Great in theory... September 28, 2009 Reviewer:  Dilyn and Chloes mom "Lacey" (SD, USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my son for his 4th birthday pool party. He and his friends were really excited to see it in action, it worked like I assume it is supposed to. The dog doesn't really swim, just moves his legs but doesn't go anywhere..and as others have said..it doesn't shut off until it is dry, so after 2 short uses the batteries were dead, and it was worthless for the rest of our pool time.

I have read all the directions, and followed them carefully, and we still had issues.

This toy will go back to the store.

Absolute Waste Of Money April 22, 2009 Reviewer:  Nicole "Nicole" (Chicago, IL)  See all my reviews >

My 5 year old wanted only this from Santa. After one use it did not shut off. After several uses it did not shut off. The response from the manufacturer was "take the batteries out to shut it off!" After taking the batteries out by the 5th use the screws were stripped and wouldn't tighten any more. My daughter is heart broken. I have made numerous attempts to contact the company but they have my money and don't care. DO NOT SPEND ONE CENT ON THIS TOY! It doesn't "swim" it barely floats. And pressing the on/off button doesn't work - EVER - check the other responses on the various websites. Shame on MGA Entertainment.

Fun in bath and out! February 13, 2009 Reviewer:  Mom of 2 Boys "Christy" (Michigan)  See all my reviews >

My son got this for his 1st birthday, AWESOME! He drops it all the time and has never broken, works great in the tub and walks around out of water. Not sure why so many people are having trouble, but so far we love it.

PUPPY DOES NOT TURN OFF!! December 31, 2008 Reviewer:  Wholistic Mom "Stephanie" (San Marcos, Texas)  See all my reviews >

My daughter received her puppy as a Christmas gift and was thrilled. Her first encounter in the tub and the puppy swam great UNTIL WE TRIED TO TURN HIM OFF. I read the directions carefully, did everything the directions said to do and still the puppy does not turn off. My daughter loves to swim with the puppy but we have to keep a screwdriver handy to take out the batteries in order to get the puppy to turn off. Cute idea but the PRODUCT DOES NOT TURN OFF!!!!

I WOULD NOT reccomend this product. Save your money!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! December 29, 2008 Reviewer:  G. steichen Real Name See all my reviews >

THIS PRODUCT IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR THE TEARS FROM FROM THE KIDS THAT DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON'T WORK. SANTA BROUGHT EACH OF MY GIRLS THEIR OWN SWIMMING DOG FOR CHRISTMAS. THEY DO NOT SHUT OFF. WE LITERALLY HAD TO HAVE A SMALL SCREWDRIVER HANDY TO TAKE THEM APART EVERYTIME THEY WERE DONE PLAYING WITH THEM. I AGREE WITH ANOTHER POST HERE, THEY DO LOOK LIKE THEY ARE DROWNING. THEY ARE GOING BACK!!!!
