Great crock pot for the crock pot cooker...

As I was reading through the reviews here I noticed that this crock pot was getting a bad name. So here is my review. I have owned this for just over a month and I have used it about seven times from roasts to chili. Perfect every time!
Lid Problem:
One review talked about the lid not fitting and how that they all were like this, and that is untrue. I actually went to the store and checked this model out and found that the one on the shelf and the one below in the box had perfect fitting lids. We received ours as a wedding gift and the lid also fits perfect. 3 for 3 isn't all that bad.
Dried out roast:
I am guessing they just had a bad recipe. I still haven't had any of my dinners come out bad.
My Thoughts:
This crock pot is sleak and big enough for a good size family meal. The digital timer is great, but I normally time my foods to be ready when I get home so they don't stew for too long. But the warmer worked on my famous chili, so it has been tested. I think that everyone will enjoy this crockpot. It is extremely easy to clean and makes great meals.
Of course, these are just my thoughts.

Cooks TOO HOT

I purchased my Rival Crock Pot almost 2 years ago and I have never been happy with it, but I thought it was just me! It cooks way TOO HOT! I have NEVER cooked on any setting but LOW and then WARM and my food always burns at both ends of the "oval". These ends equal 2 sizeable chunks of food I always have to throw out! And to those of you who say, "just adjust the cooking time in 1/2": then what's the point of paying for a slow-cooker that you cannot use to slow-cook? I need to be able to put the food in, turn it on and come back in 8 or more hours- not 2 hours or less!
Needless to say, I will be looking for a better slow cooker in the near future.

This is a great slow cooker. I love that you can set it when to stop cooking. I have never had a cooker with a timer on it so it was exciting for me! It has a nice big bowl on it too, you can fit a nice sized roast in it.

Believe every bad review of this product. I got mine for Christmas. The first (and last) time I used it, my 8-hour low temperature recipe was a burnt mess after 6 hours on low. Then to add insult to injury the handle on the lid broke off in my hand! They used a cheap plastic handle with a plain metal screw... nothing to diffuse the extreme heat, and the cheap plastic just couldn't handle it. I am buying another brand to replace this one. Poor, poor workmanship.

Shorten your cooking time

This crockpot works wonderfully, you just need to shorten your cooking times. I like my meat rare anyway, so I took 1.5 hours off the potroast cooking time and it turned out fantastic and tender. It just depends on how you like your meat. Hope this helps!

I have had this crock pot for over a year and it has made many wonderful meals. From Pot Roasts to Boiled Peanuts, every think I have made in here has been great. No buring issues what so ever. I have seen reports of burning. But I have never experienced anything with mine, I would highly recommend this product to everyone without hesitation.

This crock pot, no matter what the setting, burns all the food particularly around the edges. The crock pot should be recalled; something is wrong.
